Starcrossed love is the last thing on Ali Martin’s mind.
A brainiac who graduated in nursing at the top of her class, she’s tired of missing promotions that should be hers. Her advisor underestimated her, and rumors insinuated that her relationship with her ex is the only reason she got her job.
Enough! She will prove herself no matter what.
Enter Johanna Vialdi, an irresistible, doe-eyed recruit in the latest crop of nurses Ali is supposed to train. A relationship in the workplace would be bad enough, but one with her mentee is inconceivable.
Ali doubles down on her harshness.
Johanna can’t stand the sizzling chemistry with her tyrannic boss. She left her last job because of a mental breakdown, but Ali gets under her skin, and she can’t help proving herself.
Will Jo push herself too far? The stakes double when the opportunity for a new promotion dawns on Ali’s horizon…
