Hate has never burned this hot. And neither of them is ready for the fallout.

Jack Larson has spent his entire life running—from his past, from his pain, from the one mistake he can never take back. Signing with the Oakland Raptors was supposed to be his fresh start, a chance to prove he’s still the star forward everyone expects him to be. But when Carter Van Kleef—his biggest regret and the only person who ever saw behind his carefully constructed mask—is traded to the same team, Jack’s world tilts off its axis. Again.
Carter’s spent years trying to erase the memory of Jack Larson. The kiss that wrecked him. The fallout that destroyed them. He clawed his way to the top of the league, determined to prove he’s more than Jack’s shadow. But now, fate has other plans. Forced to play side by side—and share a room on every road trip—Carter can’t escape the firestorm of emotions Jack ignites in him. Hatred. Resentment. And something far more dangerous.

The ice between them is thin, their past too raw, their attraction a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. But when a brutal hit on the ice leaves one of them vulnerable, the line between enemies and something more begins to blur. And in the heat of competition, desire can be the deadliest game of all.
