Everyone in Greenwood is the same.

They have the same clothes, drive the same cars, and hold the same traditional values. It doesn’t matter that we’re in the 21st century. If you’re different from the status quo, you get shunned, just like Axl Ritchie.
Axl is a breath of fresh air. A beta that doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks about him. He’s everything I want to be; unafraid, adventurous, rebellious. He has always intrigued me, pulling me in with that sinister smile and grungy attitude.
There’s just one problem: I’m determined to blend in.
I have no desire to step into the spotlight or be the center of Greenwood gossip. I just want to survive—get through college and leave before anyone finds out who I really am behind the mask.
But Axl and I have been teetering right on the edge of something transformative for years and, now, it’s coming to a pinnacle. If I can’t muster up the courage to admit who I really am, this town might just keep me from the one person truly meant for me.
