A killer is closing in. She refuses to let him fall. Survival has never been this intimate.

James “Lovell” Church has a death sentence hanging over his head. His ex-wife already tried to kill him once and now that she’s out of prison, he has no doubt she’ll be back to finish the job. So, when his morning run is interrupted by someone taking a shot at him, he’s not surprised. What does surprise him, though, is the stunning woman, driving a gorgeous car, who pulls up, demands he get in, and saves his tired behind.
Writer Daphne Parks expected a quiet few weeks in Mystery Lake spending some much-needed time with her sister. What she didn’t expect was to overhear two killers-for-hire casually chatting about their plans to kill James, one of her sister’s brothers-in-law. Something that wasn’t going to happen, not on her watch. Her sister just started building the life she always deserved, and no way will Daphne let murder touch it.
Lovell is convinced the killers now have their sights on Daphne and insists on keeping her safe. Daphne is equally convinced James isn’t seeing what’s really going on. But forming an alliance isn’t easy for the two independent professionals. Especially not when a mutual attraction swirls between them as subtly as a snowpocalypse. They’ve both weathered worse storms, though, and if they survive, it could just be the start of something beautiful.
