Millie and I say in unison. “That’s what she said.”
“I have to go, we have a meeting I need to get ready for, I’ll call later, and you can give me the rundown.”
Millie blows a kiss. “That was for Lennox, love you.”
“Love you.” I end the call, turning in Lennox arms. “I think Millie’s gunnin’ for you. I’ve got to up my game.”
“Your game can’t go any higher.” His lips press against my collar bone.
I moan loudly. “If you start, I’ll start and then we’ll start. You know what’s going to happen.”
“We’ll both be sated and happy?” He waggles his brows.
I shake my head. “I’ll never get enough of you.”
“You’re right, we need to go.” He tugs on my hand as he backs out of my bedroom.
We stroll through the doors of O’Daly’s holding hands and laughing, drawing all eyes on us. “I think they know.”
“Really?” He steps away from me, pulling me around and into his arms. His mouth on mine for everyone to see. “Let them be jealous.”
“You’re a hot mess, I like it.”
He releases me, taking my hand again as we walk to the elevators. Our mouths and hands all over the place on the way up, we jump when the doors open. We stumble out, refusing to lose our connection.
“Excuse me, Miss Turner?” Alice pry’s us from our oblivion.
“Yes, Alice?”
“You had an early appointment, not on my books. He’s waiting for you in your office.” She raises her brows.
I take a deep breath. “Give me ten minutes and we’ll prep for today’s meeting.”
“I’m coming after you if you’re not in here in ten minutes.” He holds up his hands.
He walks in his door at the same time I do mine. “I’m sorry I’m late, I didn’t realize I had you down.”
“You’re fine, I enjoyed the show.” Carter stands behind my door.
I cross my arms. “What do you want?”
“Is that anyway to greet me?” he moves closer to me.
“I told you yesterday, we’re done.” I take a step back. “If you can’t respect my boundaries, you can’t be in my life.”
There’s a quick knock on my door and then, Lennox walks through it. His eyes follow mine and ignite when he sees Carter.
“You’re with her more now, than when you were married.” Lennox pins him with a glare.
“One never really divorces, we simply, separate. Do you know what I’m saying?” Carter offers his hand. “It’s good to see you again.”
His eyes move from Carter’s face, to his hand and then to me. “Yes, I believe there comes a time once divorced, you’re no longer attached.”
“That will never happen with us.” Carter narrows his eyes.
“I think Lola can decide that for herself.” Lennox fists his hand. I move over to him, gripping his arm.
Carter mocks me. “Well, we’re not all suited for thinking, are we Lola?”
