“Hey, Lenny?” Lachlan taps on the door.
I roll out of bed and quietly open the door. He grins as I step out, pulling it closed behind me. “Yeah?”
“You two need to get some sleep.” He chuckles as he walks toward the kitchen.
“At least let it rest before you chafe it.” One snickers over his coffee cup.
I run my hand over my face, trying to wake up. “What do you assholes want?”
“Are you coming tonight?” Lachlan sits, and I sit between them.
I nod. “That’s my plan.”
“We’re leaving by four, but we want to get down there in time to hit the clubs.” One checks his phone, reminding me I need to get Robin up.
“What time is it?” I stand, grabbing a mug of java.
Lachlan glances down. “Ten till ten.”
“I need to get Robin. She has class at eleven.”
“Have you told her?” One adjusts his shirt.
I cock my brow. “Does Monty know yet?”
He nods. “She does. She broke up with me.”
“Her timing is impeccable.” Lachlan rolls his eyes.
“I guess,” saying as I scratch my head. “I’ll tell her today.”
“Sounds good. I’ll call you later.” Lachlan jumps up, placing his cup in the sink. “I’m jumping in the shower.”
One stands, taking his drink with him. “I’m going to pack.”
“I’ll be here!” I grab another cup to make Robin some coffee. After refilling mine, I ease into my room where Robin’s still sleeping … or so I thought.
“So, you’re goin’ somewhere tonight?” She rolls over, taking the cup from me.
I sit on the edge of the bed. “Yeah, the guys want to run down to the beach for the weekend.”
“Girls aren’t welcome, or do you just plan to find a few there?” Her mouth forms a thin line.
I stand and put some distance between us, not wanting an argument. “It’s not like that, just a guys’ trip.”
“So, you’re all gonna hang out and get drunk.” Robin crawls from the bed, grabbing her clothes to put on.
I roll my shoulders. “Yes, Robin. We’re going to drink and do some surf-fishing.”
“Since when have all three of you, go fishing and drink?” She brushes past me to the bathroom.
“Since today.” I crack my knuckles. “It’s guys only, hanging out.”
“Like I fucking believe you.” Robin storms past me and slides into her shoes. “You know, if you want to break up with me, all you have to do is say so.”
I drop my head. “I’m not breaking up with you. Would you grow up?”
“You know what, we’re done.” She fists the doorknob. “There, now go have all the fun you want!” The door slams against the wall, and she marches out of it.
