“Why?”

Marshall checked towards the stairwell, then lowered his voice before answering. “I want to propose. At some point in the future. But I can’t ask him unless he’s met you and David.”

My heart almost stopped hearing those words from his lips. The omega I could not stop staring at, could not quell my desire for… My son wanted to keep him. He wanted to marry him.

“You love this omega.”

His smile made my stomach sink. “We’re good together. I enjoy being with him. I don’t care that we can’t have children. And if I’m going to be with someone for the rest of my life, I’d like it to be him.”

No mention of love. No talk of feelings. But the words came through loud and clear without him saying them. Marshall loved Casey. He used to bring home every omega he’d even smiled at, and never once did he have that look in his eye, the one I saw now. Love.

“Sounds like you’ve made up your mind.”

“I have.”

Damn it.

Curbing my attraction for a single day was one thing. How was I supposed to be around this omega once he married my son? I shouldn’t feel this way about him. I shouldn’t want him this badly.

As Marshall cleared the table and carried the dishes to the kitchen, I found myself looking up at the ceiling. Casey. I could still smell him from across the house. Rain and cedar, like a warm fire on a rainy day. If there was one word I could use to describe Casey’s scent, it would be slutty. Slutty omega pheromones that messed with my head and tried to destroy me from the inside out. Determined to put this behind me, I helped my son clean up the kitchen and went upstairs, my legs almost too tired to move. I would go to bed and forget this night ever happened. Forget that I wanted my son’s omega.

Except he was standing in the hallway.

Not just standing in the hallway, standing half naked with only a towel around his waist. A towel I could easily remove with one pull. God, he was so sexy. His scent. His body.

I came closer without even thinking about it, and he backed away from me until he hit the wall, and there was nowhere else to escape. I stood over him, my eyes lingering on his body. His delicate, lithe frame was so small compared to mine. If I picked him up and did everything I wanted to do to him, he might break in half. And yet, as delicate as he seemed, there was a sturdiness underneath the surface that showed he could take a pounding.

My eyes traveled down his bare chest, staring at the small patch of hair that trailed all the way to his towel. We were a breaths length from touching, and his arms weren’t even pulled up to stop me. He was letting me do this. The way he looked at me, with his brown eyes searching my face and his brow wrinkled with longing… he wanted me just as badly as I wanted him. Whatever I was feeling, he felt it too.

I forgot my sons were in the house, or that they might overhear me. The words I’d been holding back during dinner slipped unbidden from my lips. “Your scent is driving me mad, omega.” Not even that was enough to convey how this felt, this insanity over him when we’d just met.

“I…” Casey said, his voice soft and low. “I’m sorry if I’ve…” He swallowed, his throat constricting as he tried to catch his breath. I wanted to put my hand around his neck and feel the way it moved when he swallowed. “…given you the wrong impression.”

The wrong impression. What did he think was happening here? I didn’t want this any more than he did.

“Casey?” Marshall’s voice called up the stairs, and we both flinched away from each other.

I turned to disappear into my room, looking back at the same moment the omega did. Our eyes met across the hall, the heat between us raging like an inferno, undimmed and clawing for attention. “That was my foot under the table.”

He gasped, his eyes as wide as saucers, and he sprinted down the stairs to get away from me.

Yes, little lamb. Stay far, far away from me.

If you can.

Casey

Casey

I can’t believe this is happening.

Of all the scenarios that ran through my head when I pictured meeting Marshall’s father, being so insanely attracted to him I could barely function wasn’t on the list. I would rather he hated me and threw me out of the house. That would be easier to deal with. The fact that I was laying in bed, hours later, my skin still flushed and my cock painfully hard, made everything worse.

Marshall was already asleep, completely unaware of my problems, as he should be. My life would be ruined if he knew how hot and bothered I was just thinking about his dad. His tall, sexy, muscled, Alpha dad. I wanted that big, burly man to pick me up, shove me against the wall, and have his cock inside me before my pants were fully down my legs.

What the fuck, Casey. The thought entered my mind and left before it could have any effect. God, I couldn’t think straight around him. I couldn’t stop the ideas, the images swirling in my head. I never had fantasies or daydreams about sex, but now… I could see everything. The way I wanted him to touch me. Exactly how I longed to touch him. Smelling that rich, earthy scent of his with his cock deep inside me. Just thinking about it, picturing him here with me, and all the things he could do to my body, made my cock throb to the point of pain. I had to fight this. I had to put it behind me. If this continued, I wasn’t sure what would happen, but I knew it wouldn’t be good.
