And I wanted answers. "Why her?"

Of course I knew why. She was stunning and full of fire. And a really, really good fuck. There was more under the surface, more of her to dig out.

But it had been months since we’d done a Fright Night with one of the women that found herself in Feverpoint.

Besides, Cyrus typically preferred blood lust.

Cyrus refused to answer in any truthful way. "We needed to hunt."

Nash leaned against the counter, scanning Cyrus's faces like it was the constellations and some hidden meaning would become clear to us. She rubbed her chin as she kept an eye on Cyrus.

But we learned a long time ago that Cyrus was better than any of us at holding her cards close to her chest.

Hurdling myself on the countertop, I let a cheeky smile take over my face. “Can we keep her?”

We’d taken in Butch years ago, maybe it was time for a new addition.

But Cyrus slammed her glass onto the countertop and growled as she evacuated the living room. “No. Just until she wins.”

TESS

I couldn’t will myself to move.

Clutching my stomach, I held still as I listened to my three captors' heavy footsteps moving away from my door.

My forehead scrunched together as I looked around the bedroom. A mid-century headboard with a row of walnut-wood spindles shaped like bottle necks sat at the center of the room. A matching set of nightstands rested on either side of the bed.

A low, six-drawer dresser was pressed up against the wall. And floor-to-ceiling multipaned windows faced out to Feverpoint amusement park and the small town of Valemont beyond.

Most of the view was pitch black, only a few lights twinkling down in town.

The sky was just starting to lighten, shifting from an abyss to a dark indigo as the sun began to rise.

I need sleep.

I was so exhausted I wasn’t sure if any of this was even real. Maybe I’d fall asleep and wake up on someone’s couch.

But I was still breathless, still shocked by what Blade had done to me.

Stunned by the throbbing between my legs that felt like aftershocks.

I’d been soaked, completely and utterly ready for her to have me.

What the fuck is going on? And why do I like it?

I never would have admitted it to the clowns that had trapped me in their twisted maze of a park. But there was no denying that I liked the thrill of the hunt, the hope of winning money and the fear that came with being caught.

I should’ve been ashamed of myself. What a feminist, liking being hunted through the woods like some animal.

But these three women were something else. Stunning. Jacked. Terrifying.

Would they try to take me like that outside of the hunts?

I’d played my role in the hopes that they might take my example. Though, if I’d pieced anything together about Nash, Cyrus, and Blade in the last few hours, it was that they were beyond rules.

Whatever they had going on here, they had created their own code of honor.
