“More, please,” she said, her voice breathy. “Lean in more.”

Inhaling deeply, he let go of her thigh, resting her knee squarely on top of his shoulder and placing a hand on either side of her hips. He leaned forward, taking his time to not overextend any of her other muscles. Letting out another little moan, Avery licked her lips and closed her eyes. It was another scene from his fantasies, and Liam couldn’t help but let out his own sound of appreciation. Pushing forward a little more, Liam tried to hold the position for as long as he could, wanting her to get the best stretch possible. After what seemed like forever, but still not long enough, Avery’s leg drifted off his shoulder, throwing Liam off balance, sending him careening forward, stopping himself before he landed on top of her. But only just.

Avery’s eyes flew open, but she didn’t move, simply licked her lips again. There was a heat in her eyes that hadn’t been there before, and Liam felt it overtake his whole body. His cock twitched up against her thigh, and Liam had to bite back a groan, hoping that Avery couldn’t feel that through his jeans.

Don’t kiss her, don’t kiss her, don’t kiss her…

“Liam,” she whispered.

“Yeah?”

Avery inhaled sharply, propping herself up on her elbows, the fire in her eyes seeming to flicker. Thoughts raced through Liam’s head about what to say or do, unsure exactly of what she was feeling. He knew he should back away from her, but he couldn’t. He wanted her too badly. Without a word, she leaned into him, pressing her lips to his. Liam was so stunned, he didn’t react at first. But then his senses kicked in, and the realization hit him.

Avery Houghton was kissing him.

* * *

Avery had absolutely no idea what had come over her. All she knew was that the only thing she could think about the entire time Liam was touching her was just how badly she wanted him to touch her. And her thigh was not the place she had in mind.

Now here she was, her mouth fused against his, wondering just how out of line it would be to wrap her legs around him.

His lips felt good against hers. Strong, warm, and a softness to them she hadn’t been expecting. They seemed to welcome her impromptu gesture with eagerness and desire, moving slowly. Liam’s hand found the small of her back, drawing her closer to him as they continued to kiss, neither one of them showing any interest in stopping. Avery felt as light as air as he held her, his tongue meeting hers with the lightest of touches, sending a ripple of heat through her. If she’d been standing she was sure that her knees would have wobbled. For as inexperienced as she was at other things, kissing was something she wasn’t totally in the dark about. The guy she’d handed her V-card to had spent a fair amount of time kissing her first, but that had felt more like he was trying to eat her face. The few kisses she’d experienced prior to that had also seemed sloppy and weird, leaving her to wonder why anyone would really enjoy spending hours making out. Here, on the floor of his living room, Liam was answering that question. No, more than answering. He was putting on the best hands-on demonstration she’d ever witnessed.

Liam let out a groan, pulling back from the kiss, and Avery missed the connection instantly. She wanted more—so, so much more. His kisses had ignited something inside her, and now the need to fan those flames consumed her. Gone were any thoughts about crossing lines, or the pain in her hamstring. All she wanted was to feel his hands on her. All over her. If he could make her feel this good just by kissing her, what else could he do?

“Avery…” he whispered, leaning his forehead against hers. His breathing was heavy, almost matching the thudding of her heart against her ribcage. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean…”

“No,” she stopped him. “I liked it. I…I…I want more.”

Her heart felt like it skipped a beat listening to her own admission. She’d never felt this brazen before, and she wasn't sure where it was coming from. What she was sure of, however, was that it was true. She wanted more. More kisses, more touching, more of whatever this feeling was inside her. She wanted to know what it felt like to come undone at the hands of another person. She just didn’t know how to ask for it.

“More…” he said, pushing up, hovering over her and looking her in the eye. His baby-blues were darker than normal, filled with an emotion she’d never seen. Was that…lust?

“More,” she repeated, at a loss for what else to say. She wanted to sound sexy, fun. However the only thing in her arsenal at the moment seemed to be the correct, medical terms, and there was no way she was busting those out. How exactly did one request an orgasm? “I want you to make me feel…good.”

Good? You want him to make you feel good? That might have been the unsexiest thing you could have said there…

Liam responded by lowering himself, like he was doing a push-up, finding her mouth on his descent. She whimpered, feeling the heat rush through her as soon as he made contact. She felt it all over her body, from the tip of her toes to the very top of her head. Most importantly though, she felt it in her core. A place she didn’t know could even react to something as simple as a kiss. Pushing back up again, Liam gave her a wicked grin.

“Feel good, huh?” he winked at her. His Irish accent seemed thicker than it had a moment ago, which was only adding to her sudden bout of horniness. “Like this?”

Shifting to lean against his left forearm, Liam placed his right hand on her knee, slowly dragging it up her bare leg. Shivers ran over her skin from the touch, contrasting with the fire that still raged just underneath the surface. She felt the same tingle between her legs she had that one time she’d read a romance novel in college, and she ached for Liam to touch her like the hero had touched the heroine in that story.

“Yes,” she answered, her breath shuddering.

“I need you to use your words, love,” he said, kissing her again.

Words? She didn’t have words. There were not words for what she was feeling. Avery couldn’t explain any of this—the sensations running through her body, her sudden desire to be touched, or the intense attraction she was feeling toward Liam, a man she’d never felt anything but friendship for. Right now, friendship was the last thing on her mind.

His hand reached her hip, sliding over her panties, continuing its journey up her torso. The touch was gentle, almost hesitant, like he wasn’t completely confident that he should keep going. She shifted under him, kissing him harder, trying to direct his hand. She may not have the words, but at least she could try to communicate it with her body.

Sure enough, he took the hint, his fingertips finding the underside of her breast. He pulled back from their kiss, giving her a look that was unmistakable. The desire she saw reflected in his gaze matched her own, his hand toying with the lace of her bralette. She licked her lips, wanting to tell him so many things yet still unable to form a sentence.

“I think this shirt needs to come off, love,” he growled.

Avery nodded quickly, sitting up just enough to grab her shirt by the hem and yank it off. The cool air hit her skin, and she felt exposed, knowing that her mismatched underthings were now on full display. Why couldn’t she have worn something cute and coordinated? Her worry didn’t last long though, as she met Liam’s stare, watching as he licked his lips, eyeing her like a dog did bacon. She felt her confidence rise with each pass of his eyes over her breasts and knew it was now or never.

“Touch me, Liam. Please.”
