I’ve had no one in my apartment besides Kayla and Mercy, or their parents. And those who came up from the club, like JC or Lo, when they were doing something they felt needed to be done and didn’t trust others to do it for me.
I glance around, seeing everything in order. Just the way I always keep it—nothing out of place. My little couch sits as a divider between my kitchen and the rest of the space. The TV hangs on the opposite wall, placed there by JC when he was here last Christmas. The kitchen, though, is small and barely big enough for one person, but it works for me. I need little space. It’s not like I do a lot of cooking or baking in there. The only important thing is that I have my Ninja coffee maker set up on the small counter. I thrive on coffee while at school.
“Nice place,” Fool mutters, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Thanks,” I tell him, then step back to put my stuff away and take my shoes off. I’m not one for wearing shoes in my space. I hate shoes, period, but I wear them out of necessity. Plus, outside in the world, who knows what you could step into. The last thing I want is to step into a pile of dog poop. My upstairs neighbor has a little Shih Tzu that doesn’t care where it goes, including my front step. And that neighbor barely ever picks up after it. Usually, I have to clean it up if I don’t want to smell it everywhere.
After putting everything down, I return my attention to Fool only to find him yet again in my space.
It’s not just in my space; he’s in my space. His hands slide around my waist, his head comes down, my head tilts back, and his lips find mine.
Oh. Oh. Oh.
My. God.
Fool kisses me, and it’s nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Lips. Tongue. Control. He’s taking control, dominating as if we were in bed and he were inside me. But how can that be? It’s just a kiss.
Without breaking his mouth away from mine, Fool walks forward as I go backward. Our lips are fused together, his tongue dueling with mine. He stops us at my couch, twists to sit, and brings me with him, my legs going on either side of his waist.
Oh, mighty God, please don’t let this be a dream.
Chapter 8
FOOL
The last thing I should be doing is kissing April, but seeing her again, I couldn’t stop myself. I needed a taste, and with that one taste of her, there’s no way I’ll ever be able to stop. The taste of her lips, fuck, there’s nothing like it. Could anything be better?
I highly doubt it.
With her straddling my lap, I do what I want with her. I want April to feel that I want her. The feel of her over me like this is a definite bonus. I want her to know I’m not here because of a request from Twister or Horse, but for her. After leaving the Devil’s Riot MC clubhouse yesterday, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. About what she might be going through. About the fact that she left. It didn’t sit well with me, and I wanted nothing more than to come straight here, but I’d been waiting until this morning.
This morning, after I got to town, I watched her leave her apartment. I saw her walking in the rain. I followed her as she went to the library. None of it sat well with me, and it still doesn’t. Not with the way she kept her head down, as if she didn’t want anyone to notice her.
While she’d been in the library, I’d taken a walk around campus, while Hazard stayed close to the library to keep an eye out for when she left. The campus is larger than I’d originally thought. However, I’d been able to spot several guys who were watching April.
Without them seeing me, I’d taken pictures of their faces and sent them straight to Rimfire, asking him to check who they were. I needed to know if they were a threat to her. The way they watched her and took pictures didn’t sit well with me.
By the time April finally made her way back home, I’d only been sitting on her steps for a couple of minutes. I’d gotten to enjoy watching her come around the corner, seeing her walking toward me, and, even better, the look in her eyes when she saw me, like she couldn’t even believe I was sitting there.
With her in my lap now, there’s no way she can miss it.
The decision I made when I left the Devil’s Riot MC clubhouse yesterday meant I wasn’t just going to see what was going on around here. I wasn’t going to simply take her back. No, I decided she was going to be mine. The two of us might not know shit about each other, but that didn’t matter. One look, and she’d gotten to me. There’s no way I can’t go after her. Make her mine.
April squirms in my arms, her pussy grinding against me, her hands in my hair.
Fuck. I want to take her right here just like this. Slide right inside her and feel the sweet heat of her clenching around my cock. But I know we don’t have much time before . . .
The knock on the door comes, and I groan, not wanting the moment interrupted. I knew I should have waited to touch April, but I couldn’t help myself.
April pulls away, panting, her hands sliding from my hair to press against my chest. “I better get that.”
“I’ll get it,” I tell her, cupping her sweet ass in my hands. I flip her off me and onto her back, then grind into her. “It’s Hazard.”
“Hazard?” April blinks, furrows her cute little brows, and looks confused for a moment. “Your brother?”
“Yeah, gorgeous. Just so you know, he knows it was your idea, the mousetraps in his bed.” Grinning at her, I dip down and kiss her again before getting to my feet.
“How do you know it was my idea?” she blurts, scrambling behind me. “What is he doing here?”
