“This is a bedroom. Wow! I love it. Who’s the designer?” I ask, really in awe.

“Me. When I built this three years ago, I spent a lot of time in the design center. I had everything the way I liked because I knew it would be the home for me and my family. All it needs now is you. Anything can be added or changed.”

“You always say the right things at the right moment,” I admit.

“That’s just because I speak the truth. I’m all in and patiently waiting to prove that to you so you can join me.”

I’m almost there.

Cautious and being the structured Mireya I always am, I simply say, “You’re doing a good job of proving. Let’s shower so you can prove more.”

“Yeah, let’s do that.”

“I need to get some of Niya’s soap but I don’t want to wake her.”

“She sleeps like a bear. She doesn’t move or wake once she goes down, but you’re good. I have stuff you can use.”

“Oh, so you keep a stash for your ladies that drop by?” I ask with intentionally raised eyebrows.

“I think I am proving it to you. Look at you, frowning and shit, and sounding jealous,” he says, then pulls me into him. “Just so you know, the only woman who’d been in this house is Shuga. I’ve dated and fucked other women but not one has been invited here. This is Niya’s house too and the only woman I would bring here with her would be the last woman invited here because it would now be her home too,” he says intently with his eyes laser focused on mine. He doesn’t break eye contact as he speaks. “I have stuff you can use because Niya goes in there too. She loves my shower,” he adds, then kisses my lips. “But the jealousy is kind of cute. Stay like that, jealousy provoked sex is the best. You’ll ride my dick like you’ve got something to prove.”

He smirks and I just roll my eyes. But he isn’t lying though.

“Just show me your bathroom,” is all I say and he releases me.

“Go see for yourself,” he says.

I walk to his ensuite but he’s right behind me. My mouth drops to the beautiful rustic marble floor that leads to the pebbled stone shower floor. This bathroom, while complementing the dark tones and masculine energy of the bedroom, looks like it belongs in an upscale woodland spa.

“The stones are so unique,” I compliment as I get closer to the walk-in shower, the centerpiece of the bathroom. “And these shower heads. This is gorgeous.” Although I am fully dressed, I remove my shoes. My curiosity is killing me. Slowly, I step onto the smooth rocks and admire the space. The stones, the oversized rainfall showerheads, the frameless glass enclosure, and charcoal slate walls all add to the splendor. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” I admit.

“Showers are mandatory,” he says.

“In here, absolutely. Who wouldn’t love it here?” I marvel. “I mean it’s gorgeous.” I turn around like a kid then stop when I’m facing him. I was so caught up in the grandeur of the shower that I didn’t notice there’s no tub. “You don’t take baths?”

“Nah. I only like showers.”

“The first thing we don’t really agree on. You saw my bathroom. I’m a bath girlie and I love a tub.”

“We can add a tub in here for you. There’s space for one right here,” he says while pointing to his left and my breath hitches.

The way he doesn’t hesitate to insert me into his life and home is endearing.

“That’s too drastic.”

“No it isn’t. This is your home too and I want you to be comfortable,” he says and I don’t bother to protest. Instead, I step out of the shower and walk to him.

“So what do you have for me to put on after we shower?” I ask.

“Absolutely nothing. I haven’t had time to go over the house rules yet, so that’s my bad.”

“Rules?”

“Yeah, but it’s really just one. There’s no clothes allowed in my bed. I can’t have the fabric fucking up my delicate sheets,” he says and I smile.

“Those are some special ass sheets then because I’ve never heard of sheets that can’t handle fabric. What about your comforter?”

“That’s different,” he says sternly, like it’s true.
