Jasper climbed over the console and straddled Hawk, his mate helping him get in position. He’d barely had the chance to take a breath before Hawk breached him. Jasper let out a long sigh, the pain of being penetrated again so soon buried beneath the agonizing relief of finally getting what his body needed, what it had demanded of them both.
As they kissed and touched and fucked and lost themselves to each other, Jasper thanked the gods that he’d been gifted with Hawk as his Alpha.
And that he saved me.
Chapter Nine
Hawk’s dick was sore. Actually sore. Unbelievable. After the fuckathon in the tent, then later in the truck the day before, he’d decided to switch his jeans out for sweats. His boys were killing him too, and they needed some room to breathe during the long drive.
He glanced over at Jasper who was passed out. His mate was snoring lightly with his head resting against a bunched-up sweater he’d wedged between his face and the window. Hawk had suggested he recline the seat so he could lie down on his back, but Jasper had said he needed to stay on his side.
Hawk winced. What the actual fuck is wrong with me? His behavior with his mate over the past day and a half had been shameful at best. It didn’t matter how much Jasper had begged to be fucked, he was the Alpha, he needed to remain in control, to care for his omega. Never before had he been so caught up in a sexual frenzy the way he had with Jasper. Not that he’d been a wolf-whore, but he’d had a few steady partners, had thought he had a healthy, male appetite.
But that was…
Hawk shook his head. He didn’t understand why he’d felt as though he couldn’t resist his mate, as if he was being controlled by a force outside of himself. His father had never been able to share with him what a fated mate pairing was like, so Hawk had to assume that sex with Jasper was more intense because of their bond.
He idly chewed his thumbnail as he pondered another odd aspect of their lovemaking.
Jasper was so slick.
Sure, he could account for it after he’d unloaded in him twice—perfectly logical. But a virgin? One who swears he never used any lubricant? We need to figure out what those drugs did to him. If the weather held, they would make it to the outskirts of the Wolf Creek Pack by nightfall. Then, before anything else, they’d visit Asha and let her look Jasper over to make sure he was okay.
Gods help the fuckers who experimented on Jasper if anything is wrong with him.
* * * *
Jasper’s eyes fluttered open, and after a moment of being disoriented by the darkness, he realized he’d slept the entire day while Hawk drove. He stretched his arms and legs then cried out before he could stop himself.
“What’s wrong?”
Hawk’s panic-filled voice made him jump—which didn’t help his poor wrecked body any.
I feel like I’ve been hit by a train.
“Gods dammit.” Hawk smacked the steering wheel with his palm. “I can’t believe I allowed myself to hurt you like that, to use you so roughly when you were an innocent.”
Oh please. “Hawk, this isn’t what you’re thinking. And besides, I begged you to use me like a two-dollar whore.”
“Jasper!”
Ugh, my head. “Don’t yell. I think my brain is about to explode.”
Hawk reached over the console and clasped his hand. “I’m sorry, baby. We’re almost there and we’ll go straight to Asha. Is it just your head, or something else?”
“It’s so weird. Sure, I’m still feeling it where you’d think I would, but my whole body aches, my muscles are cramping and my head is throbbing and—” Shit! “Pull over! Stop the car!”
Hawk slammed on the brakes and once again, Jasper had to save his head from meeting the dashboard. But that was the least of his worries.
Jasper shoved open the truck’s door and jumped out, wiggling his way out of the third pair of sweats he’d been through in the past couple days while yanking his tee over his head. He’d barely had the chance to kick off the slipper boots when fur erupted along his spine and paws almost instantly replaced his hands and feet. He completed the shift in record time, the change so abrupt that his four legs gave out beneath him once he was fully a wolf.
As he rolled on the wet ground, Jasper tried to bring his wolf in sync with his human the way they’d always been since the first time he’d shifted. But it was almost as if he’d never shifted before, as though he were that kid Hawk had assumed he was the first time they met.
Can’t stay like this.
He couldn’t function as a wolf and he couldn’t communicate to his animal the way he needed to.
Gods, please. Don’t let me be broken.
