“Do you want a boy or girl hatchling? I’ve never asked you that before.”
Avi chuckled and hugged him tighter before pressing a kiss to his temple. “That doesn’t matter
to me.” He leaned back to gaze down at him with a smile. “I thought you said you wanted lots? So we
should have plenty of both.” Avi let out another laugh. “That didn’t take long.”
“What didn’t?” Sean drew his eyebrows together.
Avi petted his bangs back from his forehead. “I must’ve fertilized you our first time. You’re
already feeling the pull of the nest.”
“Is this all okay? I mean, I know we discussed the possibility, but…”
“It’s perfect.”
Avi descended on his lips, taking his mouth in the hottest, sweetest kisses—ones that made his
toes curl. They were so magical that he almost forgot about the decided lack of towels and blankets.
Almost.
When Avi broke for air, Sean spoke up. “How late is the department store open?”
Avi ran his thumb across Sean’s bottom lip. “Don’t worry. They’re open late and I’m sure they
have lots of towels and blankets waiting for us.”
Sean tilted his head. “How did you know?”
“My uncle’s an avian fertility specialist, remember?”
Oh yeah. “Then can we go. Like, now?”
Avi pressed another soft kiss to Sean’s lips then gave him a wide smile, his eyes crinkling at the
corners. “Yes, honey. We can go.”
Sean slid off his lap. “You know, I wasn’t hungry earlier. But now I’m starving. I sure could use
some worms.”
Avi grimaced as he considered him, then nodded. “You’re full of egg, all right.” He rose then
gathered up Sean’s hand in his own. “If you don’t mind, though, I think I’ll stick to fish.”
Chapter Seven
“So, this flea market really is that great, huh?”
Kellan called to Sean from where he was pacing back and forth in his and Vic’s cabin, patting a
fussy Erik on the back as he tried to get him to settle down. Sean hadn’t been so sure about leaving the
empty nest to stay with Kellan while Avi was working the Fourth of July event, but he also hadn’t
wanted to be alone and Avi had refused to leave him alone—so here he was.
