push thoughts of Avi to the back of his mind and move forward. Even if something deep in his soul

told him they were supposed to be together, that the handsome eagle shifter was the one, he couldn’t

force Avi to keep him as his forever omega if he wasn’t interested. He sniffed and ran a finger under

his eye. No, if he hadn’t even shown more than a friendly interest in him in the few occasions they’d

been in the same proximity—such as Kellan’s wedding, the baby shower and a couple times in town

Inn. Sean dragged the narrow, broken limb through the dirt and weeds, daydreaming about his

intended purchase and whether he should try to get his own apartment instead of staying at the Inn

forever.

Sean jumped with a gasp.

“Did you need a ride?” The sexy rumble of Avi’s voice made Sean halt and whip his head

around.

“Oh!” He blinked a few times in surprise.

Avi furrowed his brow as he leaned out of the window of his large, red truck with one hand on

the steering wheel and his arm resting on the driver’s side door.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. I thought you might need a lift into town?” He paused,
