Chapter Nine

Cam figured he must be hallucinating. After all, how could he have gone from devastating heartbreak from one crush to having two mates who wanted to keep him?

“Cam, we can get the rest of this stuff later.” Sascha stood in the doorway with Cam’s towels cradled in his arms. “I don’t want to keep Brandon waiting.”

He plucked a change of underwear, a pair of sweats and a tee from the dresser drawer. He hadn’t brought much with him, so everything fit in the top one.

“Are you sure he meant I should move all my stuff into your guys’ bedroom?”

Sascha let out a small growl which was too cute. But since he could tell how aggravated the omega was, he decided to keep his observations to himself.

“The bedroom belongs to all three of us now, got it? We both want you there.” The corner of Sascha’s mouth twitched. “I thought that would’ve been obvious after what happened at the kitchen table.”

Cam looked down at the toes of his muddy boots. He shuffled back and forth, still wondering if maybe the pregnancy horny hormones were speaking on behalf of Sascha and he’d snap out of it once the baby was born. He scratched behind his ear. On the other hand, it wasn’t as if Brandon was pregnant too.

He lifted his gaze. “I guess that’s why Brandon wants to talk, huh?”

“Exactly. He’s the Alpha. Let him be in charge of things.”

Cam stuck out his bottom lip as he considered Sascha’s statement. “True. However, before we even begin, this isn’t a sex thing for me. I mean, yeah, sex, am I right? But it’s not just a sex thing. Not that you guys aren’t both smokin’ hot…”

Cam clamped his mouth shut, clutching his clothes to his chest the moment he caught Sascha staring at him with his arms crossed.

“Cam. It’s not a sex thing for me either. I already told you how I’ve been waiting for the right one.” Sascha dangled the grooming kit by the handle as he padded over to him. “I’d never hurt you, Cam. Not intentionally, not like that. Don’t you think it’s cool that all our lives we were looking forward to finding our mate, and instead, we found two?”

Cam looked down at Sascha, his blond hair so light it almost blended in with his pale skin. He gazed up at Cam with bright, blue eyes, his expression so vulnerable and open. No, Sascha would never hurt him that way.

“You’re right. It is cool.”

Sascha smiled at him and they made their way upstairs. As he walked behind Sascha, he noted how different the omega’s gait had become in the short time they’d been there. He’d noticed Sascha’s belly getting bigger, but now he was picking up on the other changes in his body too.

When they entered the bedroom, they spotted Brandon tossing the now-empty duffel behind one of the sliding doors of the wall closet. “I was wondering where you two had disappeared to.” Brandon’s gaze landed on Cam’s muddy shoes and he frowned. “Hmm. Hadn’t noticed that back in the kitchen.” He gave Cam a lopsided smile. “I was distracted. Anyway, leave them in the bathroom and you can take care of them later.”

“Yes, Alpha.” Cam slapped a hand to his mouth. “I mean… Should I be calling you Brandon now? It’s okay if you don’t want me to.”

Sascha interjected, “He needs a lot of convincing that we aren’t just using him for sex.”

At Brandon’s pained expression, Cam regretted how suspicious he was being and reminded himself that these weren’t just any shifters. Regardless of his attraction to them, he held them in high esteem. He had to quit being so skittish.

Brandon rubbed his forehead. “You know, I don’t blame him.”

He gaped at Brandon. He understood? An Alpha?

Sascha cocked his head. “You do?”

Brandon nodded. “This is why I stopped things downstairs even though my body was screaming for us to continue. My desire for you both is off the charts, but we can’t have anyone feeling left out.” Brandon locked eyes with him. “I want you to know that I’ve never agreed with how some shifters exploit betas. Your natural instinct to serve shouldn’t be used against you. It’s not right.”

Cam released the tension he’d been holding in his body. “Thank you. That’s…” He might be great at talking non-stop, but expressing deeper feelings wasn’t one of his better skills. “That means a lot.”

Brandon winked. “You’re welcome. Now go grab that shower so we can all lie on the bed together.”

“Sounds good to me.”

Cam scurried into the bathroom and rinsed off as quickly as he could. His hands shook as he rubbed the soap along his skin, the anticipation of what might be almost more than he could handle.

When he emerged from the shower with only a towel around his waist, he was met with the vision of Brandon kissing Sascha as they lay facing each other on the bed. That nagging urge to tiptoe away ad leave them to it slammed into him again, but he fought back. They’d both reassured him multiple times that this was what they wanted. And dammit, he wanted it too.

Brandon seemed to sense his presence, breaking the kiss with Sascha then gesturing him over.
