"I read about it." Level. Steady. Controlled.

"Reading won't really prepare you."

She meets my eyes without flinching. The defiance is subtle enough that most people would miss it.

I've spent weeks studying the angle of her chin when she's resisting. The angle is present.

"Turn around. Hands behind your back. Wrists together."

She turns. Crosses her wrists at the small of her back.

The positioning is textbook, and the textbook quality is exactly what I'm reading.

I step forward and take her wrists. Her skin is warm under my hands.

"Color?"

"Green."

I begin with the wrists. A column tie, the foundational binding. The soft rope slides against her skin, each wrap precise, the tension even. I leave enough space between the rope and her skin. Restriction without constriction. The knot sits flat against the inside of her wrists, where she'll feel it with every small movement of her hands.

The rope is familiar in my hands. I've tied hundreds of bindings in this room. The muscle memory is mine the way the dresser's lacing is hers.

What isn't familiar is the heat coming off Natalie's skin. The fine hairs on her forearms rising under the rope. The scent of her perfume mixing with warm leather and the faint mineral edge of nervousness.

Her breathing changes. The corset makes hiding it difficult.

"The rope isn't tight," I say.

"I know." Quick. The researched answer.

"I'm not asking if you know. I'm asking what it feels like."

Silence. I let it hold.

"Like I can't undo it," she says. "Even though it's not tight."

Better. That answer came from her body, not her preparation.

I tie the second binding across her upper arms, securing them against her back and framing the corset. The position opens her torso, pulls her shoulders into alignment. Every binding reduces her ability to curl inward, to protect. The rope crosses her back in a pattern she can feel accumulating, each pass adding tension.

She inhales sharply when the rope crosses the bare strip between the corset's edge and the thong. Small. Unplanned. The kind of sound that reaches past everything else in the room.

That wasn't in her research.

"Color?"

"Green." Quieter now. The control is draining her.

I move behind her. My hands follow the rope lines across her back, checking tension, adjusting pressure.

She's flushed where the rope has pressed. The muscles along her spine have stopped fighting the restriction and started accommodating it.

"You're compensating," I tell her. "Your body is finding room inside the binding."

"Is that wrong?"

"It means you're feeling it instead of performing it."
