Leaning against Logan as he kisses the top of my head, I browse the photos taken right after the ring exchange and grin, because each of them is better than any I have taken in my entire life. The best one, showing Logan kiss the ring while we stare into each other’s eyes with undeniable feeling makes my heart grow, and I click on the sharing option, adding I’m married before sending it to my family’s group chat.

There.

I want them to see.

Logan smiles at me, leading me out of the chapel after attaching Jekyll to his lead. “Can’t believe you’re on your phone right now.”

“I just decided to let my family know. I hope they can be happy for me, but I kind of also want to show them that they can’t control what I do,” I say, torn between joy and relief.

Logan stops in the hotel lobby and cocks his head at me with a blank expression. “What did you tell them exactly?”

I lean against him. “I sent one of the photos and told them I’m married.”

He snorts and strokes my head. “Did you just out me?”

My blood runs cold, and I barely keep the phone in my hand. “Oh no. Oh no. I can... maybe I can still unsend it,” I say and unlock the screen, but he grabs my hand to stop me.

“No, I married you, remember? I’m just laughing because it’s such a you thing to do! I want everyone to know. Send me the photo.”

Relief pools in my heart and I kiss his cheek before sharing the picture with him too. I can hardly believe my luck.

He grabs his own phone and starts typing with a wide grin. “Just got married… On honeymoon… Won’t answer phone… for 72 hours…” He gives me a kiss. “There. Done. You’re mine. Let the world burn. I sent it to Kai, so by the time we get back, everyone will know.”

I get a text from Kai before we’re out of the chapel.

[OMG! WHAT? YOU GOT MARRIED????]

I laugh and give my husband another kiss. “I think it’s time we switch off our phones,” I say and do just that, excited about all the delicious things the next seventy-two hours will bring.

“You know how I told you not to worry about where we’re staying?” Logan says and turns off his phone as it starts to buzz. “It comes with a kennel.”

Chapter 25

Logan

Kyle can’t stop laughing as I carry him over the threshold of our hotel room. So maybe he’s not my bride, but it’s no secret that he loves my strength, and after the way he took care of me for the past two months, I want to show him, even if just symbolically, that I shall do the same.

“Thank you, husband,” he says, nuzzling my cheek as I shut the door and place him on the soft carpet.

“You thought I couldn’t do it? I might need to pick you up more often,” I joke and nudge his ribs as I take in our room. It’s the middle of the day, so bright light seeps through sheer curtains installed for privacy, bringing out the cozy beiges and browns of the interior. I smirk at the sight of the rose petals scattered over the comforter on our bed. There’s a bucket with sparkling wine in the middle of it, and now that I know what to search for, I also spot two champagne glasses by the phone.

“I did tell them we were on our honeymoon,” I say and Kyle looks back with a wide grin.

“It’s perfect.”

The room would have been even more perfect if we were in some kind or romantic castle, sleeping in a massive wooden four-poster with curtains around it, and a copper tub in the corner, but the simple yet elegant decor is lovely too. We’re here to celebrate our relationship, not antiques.

“And I booked it for three days, so we can go on trips, or… stay in bed for the duration of our stay.” I smile and kiss him with my heart soaring.

We made out half the night yesterday, playing a dumb game of whose restraint would break, but we did manage to leave sex until today, and I can’t wait to claim my husband.

Kyle wiggles his brows and kisses my chin, leaning back when I attempt to capture his lips. “I’ll start our bath, and you’ll come in when I call you. Okay?” he asks.

My brain fills with steam and I nod, painfully eager to get my hands on him. We’ll need to discuss it, but I know we’re not doing rubbers tonight.

I take off my suit jacket as I follow him with my gaze and sit on the bed. The rose petal heart is cheesy, but I love it anyway. It makes me feel as if my life is a fairytale, and while I didn’t mean to come out the way I did, I am married to him. I want the whole world to know.

So maybe there are better ways for my parents to find out than from social media, but I regret nothing, and as water starts flowing behind the door, I imagine my man stretched on the bed while I massage his perfect ass.
