The trio disappeared outof the dressing room, leaving Sooty and Damian behind. Sootychecked her makeup in the mirror then gestured to Damian. “Come on,let’s get settled for the performance. We have the best seats inthe house, I promise you. Follow me.”
Damian trailed after her, wondering how the hell he’d managed to land a bloke who was a rockstar.
Sometimeslife was strangerthan fiction.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Jory
I must be theluckiest guy alive. Having all these insanely talented people in myband, working towards a common goal, and doing what we love. Whocould want more? The way Alice plays guitar: she’s such an uberrock chick. I’m sorry she didn’t finish her nursing degree but I’mnot sorry I found her. 28 September 2019
Sweat, thechafed skin between Edge’s arse cheeks, and the sour taste ofwhisky echoed off the man he was on stage. His guitar strap rubbedhis neck, yet, despite the discomfort, Edge was in hiselement. As he belted out the lyrics to one of his newer songs, hiseyes blinded by the strobe lights, he strode around the stage, owning it and wishing he could see Damian’s face as heperformed.
The man who was Jory, wholoved quiet nights in watching the telly while cuddling up with awarm blanket to a bloke whose company he enjoyed, hoped Damian wasout there in the crowd somewhere.
“Edge,” hisfans screeched at the top of their voices, and he grinned, stridingover to them, wagging his hips and arse in their faces while heplayed a riff on his guitar.
God, he loved this. Beingpart of Stone Edge was all he’d ever wanted.
He stomped about a bit, standing with Bernard as he bashed the drums, the sweat glowing onhis smile-wreathed face. Then Edge did the bump and grind againstHannah and Alice as they made love to their guitars and screamedout the backing vocals.
It seemed likeminutes, but had probably been an hour when the compère
announced there’d be ashort break before the main act would be on. Edge and his bandmembers strutted their stuff, performed the expected encore, thenbowed out to let The Widowmakers’ roadies set up.
Edge hadprofound respect for their music: a blend of heavy metal andhead-banging vocals. Totally different from Stone Edge’s sound—rockmixed with a soupçonof pop that’d been likened to the group RoyalBlood more than once. Edge loved the idea their sound would becompared to such a great band.
Backstage, Jory wiped hisface with a damp towel one of the passing stagehands handed to him,and then took a long, thirsty gulp of water from the bottle he’dsomehow acquired. He’d expected to find bloody Roger waiting forhim, but he didn’t appear to be around.
Thank heavensfor small mercies.
“You were epicout there,” a quiet voice murmured behind him, and Jory turned witha gasp of pleasure. Damian stood there, looking elegantly sexy intight black jeans, a silky shirt that mirrored his green eyes, anda casual jacket with the collar turned up.
“You came,”Jory exclaimed. “What did you think of the show?” He planted a wetkiss on Damian’s cheek, loving the way his cheeks flushed pink.“Did I rock up there or what?”
Damian rolled his eyes.“You were fabulous up there and you know it. I mean, dressed likeyou are,” he gestured to Jory’s tight black leather pants andsilver sequinned shirt, opened to the waist, “how could anyone notlust after you?”
“Oh, so that’sall I am, is it?” Jory teased. “A piece of flesh to be lustedafter?”
Damian chuckled. “Themusic wasn’t too bad either.” He dodged nimbly to avoid Jory’spunch to his arm. “Hey, now, don’t bruise the merchandise. You getto unwrap all of this later. I hope.” He gestured to himself thenhis face grew serious. “Honestly, you were amazing out there. Yourvoice is incredible, such a range, and when you let it go all huskyas you do…” He hesitated. “All I can say is you had everyonescreaming for more.”
Jory moved closer toDamian, smelling soap and cedarwood, as if a woodland forest hadmade it inside his body and gave off tantalising glimpses of pineand greenery.
I have tofind out what fragrance he uses and buy him a dozenbottles.
“I’d hopedlater I’d have you screaming for more,” he whispered into Damian’sear, smiling against Damian’s cheek as he felt his skin growwarmer. “Sooty booked me a suite at The Ocario over the road, and Iwondered if you’d like to have dinner with me, then come up for anightcap after the concert?” And stay over, he addedsilently.
He moved away, seeingDamian swallow, and Jory wanted to kiss his smooth throat, evenbite it gently, leave his mark. It might’ve been only two monthssince he’d met Damian in the coffee shop, and they hadn’t spent allthat much time together, other than amazing sex and the occasionalmovie, but he was beginning to realise Damian had gotten under hisskin more than anyone had before.
“I suppose Icould,” Damian mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. His eyesglinted with mischief. “I mean, if I stayed at yours, I’d have tocancel my room at the Premier Inn, and I don’t think I’ll get mymoney back. I’ll need to weigh up my options. You or losing seventyquid.”
Jory nodded his headthoughtfully. “Hmm, I can see it might be a problem. Tell you what.I’ll make it easy for you to make a decision.” He moved closer toDamian, loving the way the man’s pupils dilated. Jory reached outand squeezed Damian’s dick. Damian’s eyes closed and he drew in aquick breath.
“Me suckingthis tonight and making you feel good,” Jory murmured. “Thenkissing every inch of you, including your cute hole. Or you canstay in your hotel room watching reruns on TV and listening to theother lodgers walking drunk down the hallway. I know which one I’dchoose.” He winked and turned away. “I’ll be in the backstage room, getting rid of the gunk on my face if you want to let me know yourdecision,” he called out as he sashayed down the narrow hallway.“See you soon.”
Jory laughed as he walkedto the outside section to have a quick smoke. He had a feeling heknew which option Damian would take.
