No matter the outcome.

I tossed my head from side to side, slowing my moves until I was barely rocking him, yet the friction was more heightened than before.

Christian took another deep breath, lifting his body so it was parallel to mine. Together we rocked, the powerful man using his strong leg muscles to lift me up with every savage thrust.

I swung one arm over his shoulder, neither one of us blinking as we fucked each other.

Soon, we were both perspiring, beads of sweat rolling down both sides of his face as a slow and steady wet string fell down the back of my neck. Nothing could be better than sharing the explosive passion with him.

There was no telling how much time had passed and it seemed it didn’t matter. We were locked in a moment, two damaged people seeing salvation as well as joy.

He knew exactly how to make me crazy and within seconds, the deep core ache in my pussy was all I could think about. Stars flashed in front of my eyes, the flutter in my stomach creating a feeling of being lightheaded.

This time in letting go, I threw my arm into the air and allowed the creatures in the forest to experience the wave of ecstasy as the climax rolled through me.

Christian didn’t stop, rocking me even harder. I tossed my head from side to side, laughing softly as a single orgasm drifted into a wave.

Soon, I sensed he was close to allowing his own moment of satisfaction. I clenched my pussy muscles, pushing him back and lowering my body toward his. The sensations rolling through me were electrified and there were no words needed.

Perhaps I really was insane, but I sensed this wasn’t just about sharing our hunger for each other. At least not for me. I was falling in love with the man. For better for worse, for good or bad. Yes, I was.

Even if he was a dangerous, brutal man with no conscience. I’d begun to think I had less of one than I’d thought for all these years.

As soon as he filled me with his seed, I collapsed in his arms where we remained. Both remaining quiet. Both lost in thought.

We were both quiet while dressing, twilight creating a backdrop of shadows, but I felt completely safe with him.

Moments ticked by as the sun continued to fade, drifting into shadows that would ordinarily make me afraid. I kept my face pressed against his chest, enjoying the thrumming of his heartbeat. His body was so warmth, keeping the chill away. We didn’t need to say anything, just enjoying being together.

But as with all delicious fantasies, this had to eventually come to an end.

When we were finally dressed, he moved closer, not touching me, but standing close.

“What now?” I asked.

“Now, I handle Carrington.”

“How?” I thought about the name he’d brought up. Southshore. I’d heard or seen it somewhere, but where? It would nag me until I figured out the puzzle.

He brushed hair over my shoulders, dropping his gaze. “I’m not certain yet.”

“You made a promise.”

“I’m aware.”

“Just so we are clear. You did kill your employee. Right?”

The lift of his gaze allowed me to see some amusement in his eyes. “I like to call it eliminating a problem, but yes.”

A tiny shiver coursed through me, but not enough I was nervous. “And the guy at the hotel, the one who accosted me at the charity event and outside?”

Christian took a deep breath. “Trust me in that he’d done much worse.”

“I’ll take that as a yes. And my troll?”

“Once again, trust me when I say that everything he said to you was a precursor for what he had planned, including with other women he stalked online.”

It took me a minute to realize what he’d said. “Wait a minute. You really did stalk me, didn’t you? You were inside my house.”
