I pray every touch, every lick, every emotion that ripped through both of us last night just flashed through her mind, and she’s as turned on as I am. The slight laugh I hear escape her lips makes me sit back in my seat and sigh. I haven’t felt this happy in years.

“Beckett’s on his way to see you,” she says.

Well, I could have done without that this morning.

I groan loudly. “And to what do I owe this pleasure?”

“I’m finally giving him back his keys this morning. He’s going to my apartment to grab them from Eva and then heading to Sexton Media to get his car. I can call an Uber and meet you there.”

“No,” I command. “You promised you’d stay in my bed all day. When I get back, I want you exactly how I left you. Naked. In bed. Enchiladas optional.”

She groans. “I hate playing hooky.”

“It’s called, taking a sick day. You should try it. Besides, I kept you up late two nights in a row. You’re going to crash if you keep it up.”

“You’re a bad influence on me, Mr. Sexton.”

“You are a devilishly good influence on me, Miss Smith.” I have to adjust myself at just how good she’s been on me. “Okay, enough dirty talk. Some of us are responsible and have work to do. Tell Beckett to meet me at the loading dock. I have a meeting in fifteen minutes and then a few calls to make, then I’ll be down there.”

“Will do. What time should I expect you home for dinner?”

I grip my chest at the way she used the word home. “That depends. What are we having?”

“Chocolate Godiva sundaes,” she says with a giggle.

I lean back in my chair and bite my pen just the way she does. “I’m all about dessert for dinner but not what I was expecting. Where will I be eating this sundae?”

“Off my naked body while I’m sprawled out on the dining room table.” Her voice is thickly provocative.

I’m loving this side of Jalynn.

Loosening my tie, I declare, “Scratch my afternoon meetings. I’m coming home now.”

“Get to work. I’m gonna take a nice, long shower in that spaceship you call a bathroom. There are jets everywhere.”

I let out a deep moan. “Not making your case for me not coming home any easier.”

“Is it getting harder?” she moans sweetly.

“I’m about to send out a company memo that my girlfriend, Jalynn Smith, has a filthy mouth and that everyone gets to go home early, so I can lick chocolate syrup off her inner thighs.”

“You wouldn’t!”

“Keep giving me blue balls and watch me,” I say, tapping my fingers on the keyboard, making sure she can hear me hitting every key.

“Oh God, you would do something like that,” she says with a huff.

She’s right; I would. But I won’t because I care about her too much.

“Jalynn.”

“Yeah?”

“I’d like a cheery on top. Pretty please.”

I know she just smiled big by the slight rush of air that pushes into the phone.

I laugh. “Good-bye, Pyle.”
