Thick jets of cum spurt out of his dick, covering his stomach and chest. His orgasm is still going as he twitches and moans under me.
Shifting back, I slowly pull out, massaging his thighs as he lowers them. I hop off, remove the harness and toy, and clean my hands before crawling into the bed next to him. “Was that okay?” I brush back the hair plastered to his forehead as he smiles up at me, his eyes twinkling.
“Honestly, I think you can go harder next time.”
We lie there cuddling until an alarm goes off on my phone. Sawyer rolls over to shut it off.
“Did you set an alarm to remind you to stop pegging me?”
“Sure did,” I say as I sit up and pull my clothes on. “I have to run a few errands before the party I’m not supposed to know about tonight.”
“Same,” Sawyer says, getting dressed quickly.
When I attempt to open my door, the knob sticks. “I can’t get the door open.” I try it again, but it won’t budge.
“It’s probably stuck. Sometimes the humidity causes the wood to expand in these old houses. That’s most likely all it is.”
“This is Colorado. Humidity isn’t a thing here.” I wiggle it again, growing frustrated. “Did you do this?” I ask, turning toward him.
“What? You’re the one who closed the door behind us.”
“I have things to do, and I need to get some more words in.” Shit, I’m getting worked up. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my emotions, recognizing that I’m on the verge of a meltdown over something so stupid. I have no clue why he’s still doing these stupid pranks, but I don’t have time to confront him about it now. It can wait till after the party.
Sawyer stalks toward me. “Are you gonna write a book about a hot older man who has an endless supply of stamina and dad jokes?”
“You wish. Wait. Are you keeping me hostage so you can force me to rewrite my book with you as the MMC? That’s just the plot of Misery.”
I chuckle, but when I glance at Sawyer, he’s not laughing. “What? You’re the only one that can crack jokes?”
“Huh?”
“You know that movie where Kathy Bates holds that author hostage so he’ll rewrite his book the way she wants it?”
“Yeah.” He takes a step closer, reaching around me to try the handle.
When he gets it open after a few tries, I breathe a sigh of relief. I walk down the hall, pausing at the top of the steps when I don’t feel him behind me. “Are you coming?”
“In a minute. I’m gonna make sure all my tools are put up before the party.”
“Okaaaay.” I head down the stairs as uneasiness settles into my bones. I’m not sure what caused Sawyer’s change in behavior. Did he not enjoy the pegging? Maybe he’s not a fan of scary movies? I try to push the thoughts out of my mind as I psych myself up for tonight’s party. I’m already on edge about my deadline, and the thought of everyone in my house has my nerves ramping up again.
It’s fine. Everything’s going to be fine.
CHAPTER 26
SAWYER
“Gizmo is literally a Christmas gift!” Bella exclaims.
“But it’s a scary movie. Those little creatures are so creepy!” Summer retorts.
“Gremlins is a Christmas movie, just like Die Hard.” Bella holds up her hands, ticking things off. “It has a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations. There’s a whole monologue about Santa. It checks all the boxes.”
“I still think it’s a scary movie,” Summer says.
“But that doesn’t make it a Halloween movie,” Bella counters as she turns to her fiancé. “Hardy, back me up here.”
I chuckle to myself, listening to their exchange.
