Bkstrt_Rulz: Mason isn’t even one of the original members. They added him after a year because the first guy left.
I stretch my fingers, then hover them over my keyboard. I should walk away. Just not engage. I have nothing to prove. Still, I can’t not correct that glaring mistake.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: This is patently false. Mason and Crue were friends and auditioned at the same time. Mason was an original member and even danced with the rest of them for the first year and a half. It was only after that he shifted to the drums. He still sang though and wrote a chunk of their bestsellers.
Bkstrt_Rulz: Judging from your username, I’m pretty sure you’re biased.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Same.
Bkstrt_Rulz: So we’re supposed to just bow to your authority?
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Of course not. Do the research yourself. Any reputable site will show the same information I’ve shared here. Maybe try Soul Obsession’s website, they have their origin story on there as well as bios for each of the members.
Bkstrt_Rulz: Whatever. Everybody knows this is just a pathetic money grab from a bunch of talentless hacks anyway.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Mason is a classically trained musician who can play however many instruments. If that’s your definition of talentless….
Bkstrt_Rulz: If he’s so amazing, why was he wasting his time with that group?
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: In my opinion, all the members of Soul Obsession were talented. The songs they performed were important to their fans. And since you’re on a forum, yelling at me about a band you don’t like, one wonders if anyone should be taking time management tips from you.
CrueS4Luv: Thank you! Luna_and_Mason_4Ever for setting the record straight. So tired of the trolls on this site.
My laptop dings with a private message. So I click over to that.
Official_Mason_Ball: Hey, so I don’t normally respond on here, but I felt compelled to reach out to you. Thanks for setting the record straight out there. It’s normally a thankless job, so I wanted you to know it’s appreciated.
I stare at the message and read the username a few times. Surely not. I mean, it’s not actually him. Because he, no doubt, has an army of people who manage stuff like this.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Sure. I’m an original fan so to say I feel protective of y’all is an understatement.
Official_Mason_Ball: Well, it’s appreciated.
Official_Mason_Ball: So an original fan, huh? Ever see us in concert?
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Twice. Both times were amazing.
Official_Mason_Ball: Did you have a favorite song?
Official_Mason_Ball: I sound like a wanker asking for compliments. You don’t have to answer.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Actually, talking about Soul Obsession and their music is one of my favorite subjects. That and random historical facts.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Favorite song, definitely Into You.
Official_Mason_Ball: I wrote that one.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Yeah. Mason was always my favorite song writer in the group.
Official_Mason_Ball: Random historical facts. Let’s go back to that. Can you give me an example?
I smile because it doesn’t take long for me to bore people with my weird historical nuggets. I find them vastly interesting, but most of my friends and family members are so over it. So it’s always nice when I have a new person to share them with. Even if it is someone who works on my teenage crush’s social media team.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Alright. Did you know that tablecloths were originally intended to be a communal napkin? So everyone at the table would be able to wipe their mouths and hands on their part of the cloth.
Official_Mason_Ball: I did not know that and I’m thankful that did not become a trend.
Luna_and_Mason_4Ever: Same.
