Sofia: Oh, okay. Sure.
Me: I am thinking of doing something kinda crazy though.
Sofia: I’m bringing Aria in for this.
Aria: What’s up?
Sofia: Juliette is thinking of doing something kinda crazy.
Aria: Wearing two different colored socks isn’t crazy.
Me: Give me a little credit.
Aria: Okay, wearing no socks isn’t crazy.
Me: Maybe not crazy, but it’s gross. It’s not like I can wear sandals to work!
Sofia: Can we focus here? What is the crazy?
Me: Romeo is going on a run tomorrow to pick up some dogs displaced by that recent storm.
Me: I think I’m going to go with him.
Aria: Did he invite you?
Me: Uh… no. He begrudgingly talks to me.
Sofia: It’s because he wants you.
Me: Sure.
Me: I was thinking more along the lines of sneaking into the van and hiding there until we’re too far away for him to turn around.
Sofia: And then you plan to seduce him?
Me: What? NO!
Me: I have the opportunity to meet that guy I’ve been chatting with on the dating app.
Me: We agreed to meet on neutral ground.
Aria: Don’t you think Romeo will be pissed when he finds out you used him to go see another guy?
Sofia: Seriously. That would piss me off.
Me: No. Because he doesn’t see me that way.
Me: Do I have a bit of a crush on him? Obviously. He’s gorgeous and strong and steadfast and…
Me: But that’s the point. It’s a stupid crush that is going nowhere.
Me: Meeting this other guy in person might be just what I need to get Romeo out of my head.
Aria: Hmmmm…
Sofia: Okay, so we’re looking at Road Trip as far as tropes.
Me: Y’all, for real. This is not a romance novel. I don’t need a trope. I need to get out of town for just a bit and meet someone new.
