Everything hits me at once, the speed, the adrenaline, the way the road feels endless and almost blurry, his voice right there beside me.
I try to focus, but it slips before I can hold onto it properly.
The release hits as my legs tighten hard and I let out a long muffled and strangled moan.
I'm trying to regain my composure when I feel him shifting beside me.
He leaves a small kiss on my neck before biting it and leaving a long breath followed by my name. I straighten up slightly then and collect my thoughts while feeling him pull away from me. His fingers are wet, glistening in the warm light of the car. And him… he's smiling.
I see it out of the corner of my eye. That calm, almost proud smile, as if he'd just confirmed something.
“You know,” he says quietly, almost like he’s talking to himself. “You made me come just by taking me so well.”
He finally steps back, unhurriedly, almost stretching out in the seat, gently licking his fingers before swinging his arm around me.
I glance at him, still slightly breathless, but I manage a smile. “Are you proud of me, then?”
That makes him smile properly this time. “Very, actually. I think you're perfect like this," he adds lightly. “I like it when you smile after I've made you come.”
I stare at the road and accelerate even more, letting a small laugh slip out my lips. When I turned around and caught his gaze, I was met with a soft and quick kiss.
Maybe this is what freedom feels like.

Birthday Blues
Play - Look After You by The Fray
The alarm clock goes off inside my room and when I get back in. I see both Milo and Blue sitting at the foot of the bed. Milo is wearing his dinosaur pajamas and Blue is sitting on his lap enjoying the attention and the rubs he is giving him.
“Hey baby,” I say, kissing his cheek.
He didn’t know I was at home when I returned last night. He was already sleeping.
“Sissy!” he yells excitedly as his little arms wrap around me. “I missed you so much.”
“I’m sorry, baby. Was I on the rooftop for too long?” I ask as I sit on the bed next to him and Blue.
“I’m not a baby anymore…I’m a big boy now,” he says softly in between my kisses.
“Oh, yeah? Says who?” I reply seriously.
“Grandma says it’s my birthday today!” Milo says, his eyes sparkling.
“Hmmm, I’m trying to see if I can see a birthday boy in this room,” I pretend to glance around the room, holding him in my arms.
“It’s me, sissy!” He mumbles with a soft chuckle.
I run my hand through his curly hair which needs a bit of a brush and a trim if I’m being honest. “I can’t believe it's your birthday, baby.”
“Did you get me a present?” He asks with a smirk on his face.
“Maybe? Let’s go get some breakfast first.” I gently usher him out of the bed as I pick up Blue. But Milo stands there, waiting for me to move as if he’s scared I’ll disappear. “I’m not going anywhere baby, you can go downstairs. I’m right behind you.”
He nods and runs out. I’m just about to fix the bed when Hayzel walks in.
