“Like I said, I’m not a sadist, but you’ll come to learn very soon, Sienna, that I’m very good at dishing punishment. It’s what makes me the best enforcer in the Irish mafia.”

His hands came to my hips and he shifted me off of him before standing up, then effortlessly lifted me into his arms bridal-style.

He tugged on my red coat as if to keep me warm and then instructed, “Put your hands around my neck.” My breath hitched, and despite my terrorizing demons, butterflies took flight in the pit of my stomach. “I’m taking you to my castle. You’re mine for the next five years.”

My heart trembled at the thought of being his. Could it be that my feelings for Tyran never left? Or was it a feeling of guilt that had me uttering my next words.

“Okay, Tyran.”

“Good, glad you agree. Now put your hands around my neck,” he demanded again.

I sighed, following his order, and let him take me beyond the walls that would become a different kind of torment. I could only hope I’d survive it.

ELEVEN

TYRAN

I’d miscalculated, and that rarely happened to me.

In fact, it had only happened twice in my life. Both times around this woman. The first time, it was five years ago when I was blinded by her sweetness and didn’t see her betrayal coming. The second time was tonight.

It turned out that I was incapable of hurting Sienna.

However, she was wrong to believe she couldn’t orgasm.

She must have forgotten the incident in my office, the night before the FBI locked me up and threw away the key. Yes, I blew my load into her pretty mouth, but she also came by my dirty words while fingering herself.

As I trotted through the forest, the only light was from the moon, I kept glancing at the woman in my arms. She was quiet, which was something that started once she was rescued. This new Sienna was harder to get a read on than the young and carefree one.

“So why aren’t you seeing a therapist?”

She shrugged, looking ahead as if she was the one walking. “Who says I’m not?”

“Don’t be coy, blondie.”

She sighed. “I was seeing one. Dr. Freud. But it was pointless to talk about something that only brought it all back. I wanted to forget.”

I nodded. It made sense, but clearly her methodology wasn’t helping her.

“I’m going to get you a therapist.”

She scoffed. “Don’t bother, because I won’t be talking to one.”

“Then I’m going to get you a friend to talk to,” I said. “And this is non-negotiable.”

She lifted her head and rolled her eyes. “I lost touch with all my friends, even my best friend.”

Oh, I remembered her pretty, male best friend. Kai. Thank fuck he was no longer in the picture. I’d have to rough him up and scar his pretty face otherwise.

“Your family, then,” I suggested.

“I don’t… talk to them often anymore and it would only make my mom sad if she knew I was struggling.”

I shot her an annoyed look. “Listen, Sienna. I’m going to kill those men, but we have to fix what’s here.” I tapped her temple gently. “I don’t know how to help you with that if you won’t talk to anyone.”

She blew out a frustrated breath. “Why do you care?” Then, as if my words finally registered, she added, “And what do you mean, kill those men?”

“Don’t you worry about that. Instead, focus on getting the help you clearly need to get better.”
