I’d spent five years locked up because of her, and I was furious. Some days red mist would cloud my vision for hours while thinking about her. But killing her never crossed my mind. Not even hurting her. Well, not in the way where she wouldn’t like it.
“Fine, I won’t hurt your best friend and you’ll do everything and anything I say, whenever I say it.”
She nodded, visibly relaxing, and breathed a soft, “Thank you.”
Fuck, it irked me that she cared so much for her friend that she was willing to agree to do everything and anything.
Biting my tongue, I shook my head and pulled up in the front.
“Unpack your stuff and sleep in my room. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
“Okay.”
“I have guards stationed all around, but they won’t enter the castle unless I give them permission.”
“Okay.”
Just okay?
“Don’t even think about running,” I warned. I had cameras strategically placed throughout the castle, inside and out. My men had access to the outside, but I was the only one with access to indoor surveillance.
“Okay.”
Dammit, she was driving me insane. I should just instruct my twin to teach Sienna’s ex-roommates a lesson for being bratty and mean to her.
Except I’d located the next man who had a hand in Sienna’s kidnapping. I made a promise to myself five years ago that I’d kill them all, and I always kept my promises.
“My men will run after you, and since they’ll have to touch you, I’ll be forced to kill them afterward.” Her eyes widened and she swallowed, shoving a strand away from her pale face. “Got it, blondie?”
She nodded and pretty much bolted out of the car, heading inside without looking back.
EIGHTEEN
SIENNA
Call me. ASAP.
Kristoff’s message stared back at me from the screen, the laptop blinking almost as if it were warning me that something was wrong. My first thought was that something had happened to Mom. My second was that one of my siblings might be hurt.
I immediately dialed up my stepfather’s secured line and held my breath, waiting. It took only two rings before a familiar voice greeted me.
“What the fuck is going on, Sienna?”
“Hello, Kristoff.”
“I got a wedding invitation that’s happening in four days.” There was a pause on the other end of the line. “You’re marrying Tyran Callahan?”
I hadn’t actually spoken to my family on the phone in months. Maybe longer. Had it really been a year? I couldn’t remember anymore. Somehow, after all that silence, the first thing to discuss was Tyran.
The irony of it wasn’t lost on me since it was also the last thing we talked about.
“I didn’t realize the invite would arrive so fast,” I muttered vaguely, since I didn’t even know Tyran invited my family for a wedding, nor was I aware of a day the said wedding would take place.
“Yes. It was an evite.” His voice sharpened. “Now explain.”
I closed my eyes and drew in a slow breath, holding it for a moment before letting it out.
“He found me and it was… a peace offering.”
