“He’s not a zombie, little scarecrow.” I sign, and she almost snarls.

“Hyde,” Synn pipes up, stepping towards the cabinet in the corner. “Can you butcher? The three of us need to make an appearance tonight. I need time to get ready, and find Rayvn something to do that won’t draw attention.”

I nod my agreement and grab the butcher's knife and clean apron he hands me. He leads Rayvn out, a hand on the small of her back, and leaves me alone with some pent up feelings to let this cop feel.

Rayvn’s dressed in a bright red wig, white out contacts, and a skimpy, bloodied nurse outfit. With her arms crossed over her chest, bottom lip jutting out in a pout, she looks borderline adorable.

“Do I have to go out in this?” She whines for the tenth time in the last five minutes.

“You’re just going to be by us, we’ll do the cage of death and then roam the park. This is a necessity. The cops will be patrolling the grounds, so unless you want to run to them for help, stick close and behave—please.” She balks at the pleading word slipping from Synn’s foul mouth.

“Well,” she flicks his nose. “When you ask that nicely.” At that, he storms off to tell the front we’re ready.

I hand her a small ear piece. She eyes it warily, but accepts it nonetheless.

“What’s this?” She signs.

“So you can hear Synn during the ride.” Synn wanted to be able to communicate with her no matter where she goes in the park. She has no intention of running, all of us know.

“Can he hear me through it?” I nod. “Will you have one?” I turn my head so she can see the identical piece resting in my right ear. With a small nod, she fits the piece to her ear, smiling when she hears Synn’s angry grumbles echoing in her head.

The three of us walk towards the narrow pathway, to the stage. The crowd has already formed, excited to see the duo. Half of these people are oblivious to the fact that there was a murder here. The other half—well, ignorance is a deadly trait.

Zach announces our arrival, Maverick forced to work background for the time being. The red spotlights flash on, illuminating the current trio in a bath of red. I step forward first, toying with the audience.

Rayvn follows suit, though she keeps her head held high and walks straight for the stage. The gate is lowered already, both bikes resting on their stands as they await us. She enters the cage, turns to the crowd, and sinks down to her ass.

“Who’s ready for the show of a lifetime?” Zach shouts into the mic, his voice carrying through the park, earning a riot of cheers. Synn lunges towards a couple, the woman tucks herself into her man, a smile hidden on her face.

“You okay, little scarecrow?” Synn purrs into the earpiece. Neither of us can see her anymore from where she sits, but the crowd is watching her as much as us right now.

“Little nervous.” She admits.

“Don’t be,” Shrill screams burst through the mic. “We didn’t hit you last time.” We near the cage, anticipation weighing heavy in the pit of my stomach. She giggles, the sound fucking euphoric.

“No, because of the cops. I feel like their eyes are on me.” I look around the crowd, perturbed that I can’t comfort her unless she’s looking at my hands, or my scratchy words on a piece of paper.

There’s a line of good ‘ole boys in blue standing guard at the entrance of the park, and a few more are scattered around the ground—well, according to Rick. Guns are rested on their shoulders as they have bland conversations, eyes looking anywhere but the perimeter of the park.

We cross the bridge, each throwing ourselves onto the bikes. I bring mine to life with a growl, the same sound howling to my left. We walk the bikes to the gate, and Rayvn greets us from her spot on the floor with a timid smile.

“Ready?” Synn asks, pulling his bike up beside her. I take the other side as Zach closes and locks the gate of the cage.

“One thing I can do,” She pushes to her feet. “is pretend.” She throws her hands above her head and the crowd erupts. People scream, some hollering cat calls at her, and many clap.

The music comes to life, signaling our start. Rayvn offers a hand to me. I grip her hand and bring the back of it to my muzzle, a devilish smile meeting the action. She then offers one to Synn. He takes her hand, kisses it, and bows his head at her.

I begin rocking my bike, Synn following suit, as Rayvn keeps her spot in the middle. She raises her arms above her head again, the skin of her bare torso flashing in the moonlight.

Muscle memory kicks in as we circle her. My eyes remained trained on her bare thighs, my mind playing the things I want to do to her later. The wind from our bikes whip at her hair as we weave around her, never even getting close.

Just as the act becomes repetitive, I splay a hand out. My hand trailing her body as the bike soars around her. The earpiece lets me hear the hitch in her breathing as well as the slight gasp.

“Still think we’re crazy?” Synn laughs into the mic. She doesn’t respond, not until the bikes slow and she’s forced to come face to face with us. Her eyes are wide with excitement and fear.

“If I say yes, I think that makes me just as crazy.”

“Give it up for Hyde and Seek!” Zach eggs the crowd on, met once more with the cheers of a well performed night.
