“What’s wrong?” I pant.
“I.” He pulls away from me and gets up. “I….” He’s panting and his eyes are closed as if to block me out.
“What are you doing?” I frown.
Does he have a cramp or something?
“What’s wrong?” I frown.
“I can’t.”
What’s he doing?
“Huh?”
“I’m not feeling it.”
My orgasmic glow instantly dissipates.
“What?”
He stands with his back to me. “Your body isn’t doing it for me tonight.”
A deathly silence falls between us and the world as I know it stops spinning.
My body isn’t doing it for him…. Since when doesn’t my body do it for him?
Has he been struggling through every time we have sex?
Oh my God….
Without another word he walks into the bathroom and closes the door behind him.
Here I was having the time of my life and there he was thinking of how to make it stop.
A deafening silence fills the room as I stare at the wall in shock.
The horror…the shame…. The sheer embarrassment.
Did that really just happen?
What man pulls out and stops in the heat of the moment, then tells me that I don’t physically do it for him. Is this how he’s been feeling all week? Pain sears through my heart and I screw up my face in tears….
I put my hand over my mouth to stop myself from sobbing out loud.
Tell me that didn’t just happen.
Please?
My vision blurs and as I catch sight of the bathroom door handle moving, I dive under the blankets.
He doesn’t deserve my tears, let alone to see them.
I hear him come out of the bathroom before the bedroom door opens and then closes.
Just like any hope I ever had for us, he’s gone.
