Once inside, I walk into the bedroom and he flops onto the couch.
Feels odd that he’s not all over me with his sex god antics…. I poke my head around the corner to see that he’s texting someone and his two thumbs can’t type fast enough. Bet he’s on that group chat again with the policeman and Giuliano.
I wonder what they’re talking about?
I lift my dress over my head, I need to learn the passcode on his phone so I can read these stupid messages.
I take my time and shower, and once out I sit on the side of the bathtub to moisturize my legs and still, no Valentino, I roll my eyes. Wow, that stupid group chat must be really going off.
“I’m naked in here, you know,” I call, unimpressed with him being so distracted.
“Coming, babe,” he calls.
I wait and wait and I wait…for fuck’s sake. What is he doing?
I march out to see his two thumbs texting at lightning speed. “Who are you texting?” I ask.
“Giuliano,” he replies, eyes still glued to his phone.
“About the commissioner?”
“Among other things,” he murmurs.
“Why did you tell him I lived in Milan?”
“I didn’t want him to know you lived here.”
“How come?”
“I think that’s obvious, isn’t it?” He gets up and walks into the bathroom, I follow him like a puppy. He grabs his T-shirt at the back of his neck and lifts it over his head. My eyes drop to his broad chest and the mass of muscles.
Hmm….
“Why does he call you the King of Cocaine?”
“Because he’s a boring fuck.” He unzips his jeans and his eyes land on the vanity. “What is happening here?” He waves his hand over the countertop.
“What do you mean?”
“Was there a cosmetic explosion I wasn’t aware of?”
“Oh.” I smirk. “My makeup.”
“Is everywhere.” He twists his lips as he looks it over. “I can’t even see the countertop for all your crap, Anna.”
Excuse me…. It’s my bathroom.
“Well.”
Don’t say it. Do not say it….
“We left in a rush,” I remind him.
“Hmm.” He pushes everything to one side of the vanity. “This is your side.” He clears the other side of the last few things, and puts his lone toothbrush in a cup. “And this is my side.”
He’s stressed…let it be.
I watch him undress and step under the water and I smile, who am I kidding, he can say whatever he wants about my messiness when he’s rocking this body.
