“Sin.”
“Say it.”
“You’re awfully demanding.”
“You know I don’t do shit by halves,” I remind her. “Especially not when it comes to you.”
“Let’s not get crazy, okay?”
This is what she does. She runs from anything good for self-preservation. I know that, because I do it, too.
But not now.
I’m not going anywhere.
I need to make her see that we’re good together.
We are a thing, no matter what she says. I’m not like the other losers she’s been with, and I’m going to make sure she knows it.
CHAPTER 7
SAPPHIRE
I wake in a panic, not knowing where I am. I can’t breathe, but not because of the nightmare I woke myself up from. It’s Sin, lying half on top of me, one arm slung over my body.
At the mere change in my breathing, he lifts off me slightly. “Sapphire?”
“I’m okay,” I whisper, trying to stop my heart racing as I sit up. “Go back to sleep.”
We fucked again in the shower, not that it’s big enough for the two of us, but I’m not complaining. Sex with Sin is not something I’m ever going to complain about.
What the hell happened tonight?
More to the point, what am I doing in his room?
The clubhouse is quiet now. I should’ve left to find my own room instead of following Sin’s advice. That whole “claiming your woman” crap is a crock of shit. I’d like to claim a man and have him wear Property of Sapphire. Wouldn’t that be a hoot!
He sits up, his eyes assessing me in the dark. “Nightmare?”
I nod. “I have them from time to time.”
“What about?”
“My dad,” I explain simply.
Of course, he can’t know the truth. Nobody can. The truth will go with me to the grave.
What I did…
If Sin ever found out? More to the point: if Reaper found out.
I swallow, and his eyes stay fixed on me.
“Saph?”
“Go back to sleep,” I say again.
“You need somethin’?”
