Whisper

Blush: Okay.

I fire off a message to Boone and Cashmere. They both respond and tell me they’ll let Blush in.

With that done, my thoughts shift to the man I’ve become addicted to. I didn’t expect this to be more than a passing fling, but I can’t say I hate that it’s become a lot more.

I like Blush.

More than I want to admit.

I make it home in record time, excited to get inside and see him again. As soon as I enter, I hear his laughter coming from the rec room, so I head in that direction, finding him on the couch with Cashmere. On the TV is a drag queen show some of the guys like to watch.

“Hello.”

Blush turns around, his face lighting up. “Hey, sex god.”

Cashmere wrinkles his nose. “Don’t need to know that about Whisper.”

“Oh, please.” I roll my eyes. “As if we all can’t hear you and Spec.”

His cheeks actually turn pink as he giggles. “Busted.” He shoves Blush playfully. “Have fun.”

“Thanks. See you around, huh?”

“Yep.”

I extend my hand and Blush takes it as he rounds the sofa. We walk towards the stairs in silence, but once we take the first step, he turns and faces me.

“What were you doing?”

“A job. Found some trafficked kids and took them to a shelter we work with.”

“Kids?”

“Little girls from Thailand. It was pretty fucked up.”

“Are they gonna be okay?”

“Yeah, they are now.”

“Good.”

“How was the rest of your night?”

“Uneventful.” We continue walking up the steps. “Fortunately.”

“Yeah. I wonder how many times that guy successfully roofied someone.”

“Me too,” Blush says. “Pretty bold to do it in my workplace. Like no one would notice.”

“Yeah, it’s fucked up. I got his plate number. Gonna do some research.”

“Dang it,” he mutters.

“What?”

“I’m trying to stop my… hobby.”

“Okay.”
