Miko’s feet come to a halt outside room four.
“How do you want to do this?” he asks, tilting his head to the side as he scrutinizes me. His eyes bore into my soul as if he’s attempting to calculate the damage I’m about to create. He licks his lips, elation building behind his dark eyes. He can see the violence in me waiting to unleash, and the deranged bastard wants a part of it.
“Take the prick back to mine. I’ll deal with Amanda.”
He doesn’t flinch.
Jesus, he’s fucked up.
“Miko!” Zane bites out. “Get yourself together. You can play with them later.” Disgust rolls off Zane’s every word.
For someone who will one day take over Sal’s empire, Zane has never shown the same jubilation for brutality as Miko does. Though I’m grateful for Zane’s level head, because Miko’s needs are his craving, and that’s a concern, even more so now that I know his secret—his little ballerina is more than familia. She’s the center of his universe. I just hope she can satiate the monster inside him.
“Very well.” Miko steps away from the door and waves out in front of him in a welcoming gesture. “Enjoy.” He smirks.
Without another word, I draw my gun and let my anger flow out of me, and with every ounce of power behind me, I kick the door, causing it to ricochet off the wall with a violent thud.
As if magnetized, my gaze lands on Immie. She’s kneeling beside the bed, her shoulders bunched, and small whimpers leave her.
I’m going to fucking kill them.
The prick turns to face us, and his hate-filled glare lands on me, then on my gun. His face pales and his eyes swim with panic.
“Leave!” I bark out toward him, and his shoulders relax, then I lower my gun and tuck it away.
Does the little prick think he got away with whatever he had planned for my girl?
Not a prayer.
Zane steps forward, and the prick begins to struggle, though he’s no match for my brother. One punch to his face and the cunt hits the floor like a little bitch. Zane takes hold of his arm and drags him from the room like a sack of potatoes, and my lip quirks at the thought.
“They booked three men,” Miko rasps into my ear, and I jolt. A lump forms in my throat, making it difficult to swallow.
Jesus.
They were going to hurt her. Destroy her.
How could Amanda do this?
They purchased the services of three men. It doesn’t take a mastermind to figure out what they had planned for my little nightmare. My girl, who has been through so much already and has never wanted anything but a loving home. Never wanted anything but me.
I give Miko a nod, but my words remain elusive.
How can Amanda hate her so much as to put her through such evilness?
Miko steps away from me. “I’ll be outside.”
I don’t respond as I slice my gaze toward Amanda.
She watches my every move with her arms crossed over her chest and her chin raised high in the air, a confident superiority about her. Does she really not see the brutality seeping from my every pore?
Then I clear my throat. “Who’s behind the mask?” I ask, and her lip twitches with a hint of playfulness, and I itch to tear her skin from her face. My focus deepens, and the pulse in my temple thuds. Every muscle in my body is locked uncontrollably tight as I attempt to rein in my temper.
Her face falls. “She’s been a whore, Jensen. I just wanted to teach her a lesson.” She swallows. “You’re never around to put her in her place, and now you’re throwing me out like I’m nothing to you.”
“You are nothing to me,” I snipe out, and she jerks back.
“Well, she deserved to be taught a lesson.” She glares back at me head-on.
