Nick: The Billionaire Star of NHL

“Are you going on a honeymoon?” Kai asks from across the table, raising his brows in our direction.
“I… I don’t know if Nick can,” Sierra starts, her voice hesitant.
“Yes. We’ll go on a honeymoon. Of course,” I cut in, bringing her hand to my mouth to kiss it.
“What?” She breathes, staring at me like I just grew a second head. There’s disbelief in her eyes—and a flicker of something else I can’t quite name yet.
I smirk, already knowing what’s running through her mind—she didn’t expect this. We didn’t talk about it, and she probably assumed we wouldn’t go anywhere at all.
“What, baby? You thought there will be no honeymoon?”
“I mean, yeah,” she says, eyes narrowing just slightly. “Don’t you have practice every day from Monday to Friday? And the hockey season is about to start.”
“Well, that’s true,” I chuckle, unable to stop myself. “But I took care of it. I have everything planned.”
“Where are you going?” Liam asks, eyes sharp with curiosity.
“That’s a surprise.” I wink at him.
“Well, hopefully you’ll come back pregnant from there,” Maya chimes in with a grin, her voice light and teasing.
“Mom,” Zayn groans, glaring at her. “Why do you need to comment on their sex life? I don’t want to picture that. She’s my baby sister.”
“To be honest, I do want a baby,” I say suddenly—and even I’m surprised by how true it sounds as the words leave my mouth.
It’s not just a nice idea. It’s real.
I want a family with Sierra. A home. A life. A future that includes little feet and sleepy cuddles and years that belong to us.
“What are you talking about?” she gasps, clearly blindsided, her whole body going still beside me.
“Fuck, he’s head over heels for her,” Noah laughs, shaking his head in disbelief. “How the fuck did we not realize this sooner?”
“You’re right, Noah,” I say quietly, keeping my eyes locked on Sierra’s. “I’m in love with her. Completely,” I confess. “And I want a family with you, Sierra. That means kids. Someday soon.”
“Fuck me. I think I’ll skip our family dinners for the next few years,” Zayn mutters under his breath.
“Don’t you dare, Zayn Thomas,” Maya snaps, narrowing her eyes at him.
“Oh, you’re in trouble, man,” Chris laughs from the other side of the table.
“Okay, I think that’s enough for one day,” I say, standing and gripping Sierra’s hand in mine. “You saw us. We’re perfectly fine. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’d like to spend a little more time alone before I leave tomorrow morning.”
I don’t wait for anyone to respond. I just pull Sierra up with me and start walking out. “Let’s go, baby.”
“Nick, don’t you want a bachelor party?” Ryan asks just as we’re reaching the door.
Sierra freezes besides me. And for a second—maybe less—I catch it in her eyes. A flicker of pain. Not anger, not annoyance. Pain.
I wrap my arm around her waist and tug her close, holding her tighter than I need to.
“No, man,” I say, my voice low and firm, “I don’t want a bachelor party. And I’m damn sure Ser won’t be having a bachelorette one either.”
All the boys chuckle at that, but I don’t.
Because I can’t.
She smiles at me tentatively, and I hate it. I hate that she feels this insecure. That she still doubts. That a part of her still wonders if I’ll fuck this up.
