Nick: The Billionaire Star of NHL

“I hope your wedding will be magical. And your marriage—full of love, passion, and deep respect.”

It’s late. Nine o’clock late.

The building hums with silence and flickering lights, and I’m buried in campaign reports, still in my office. My mouse clicks echo softly, the only sound in the entire building, I think.

God knows where my phone is—probably lost under the mountains of papers I keep trying to organize.

“Knock, knock.” I look up to see Kai already letting himself in. “Knew I’d find you here.” He smirks, dropping into the chair across from me. “Working hard, huh?”

“Yes. I want everything done before the wedding so I can actually enjoy my honeymoon. What about you? Long day for you too?”

“I had a late meeting, and now I’m waiting for Ethan to wrap up his day so we can go out. Do you need help while I’m here?” he asks, barely looking at me.

I narrow my eyes. “Why are you smiling like that, hmm? What’s going on, playboy?”

“Nothing.” He locks the phone, biting his lower lip and smirking with mischief. “I just received a very… interesting proposition.”

“Oh my God. You’re all the same,” I admonish him, throwing my head back.

“Who’s ‘all the same’?” Ethan asks from the doorway, his curiosity piqued.

I open my mouth to speak, when my phone buzzes from under a pile of papers. Finding it, I see Nick is video calling me. A huge smile blooms on my face as I answer.

“Hey, baby.”

His handsome face fills the screen, and I instantly notice the furrow in his brows. “Ser, what are you doing at the office this late?”

“Oh, fuck off,” Ethan groans, arms flying. “You spend more nights at the office than at home.”

I turn the phone so Nick can see his brothers, and Kai gives him a lazy wave, smirking darkly.

“What are you, assholes, doing in my woman’s office? Don’t you have work to do?”

Kai raises an eyebrow.

“We’re here to take her to a club. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have things to do.” Ethan grabs the phone from my hand and ends the call before I can stop him.

“One, two, three…” Kai starts to count, and I shift my gaze between them, confused.

“What are you counting, Kai? And why did you end the call? He’s going to…” My phone rings again, cutting me off.

Trying to maintain a serious expression, Ethan answers, “What do you need, Nick? We’re a little busy.”

Nick’s voice comes low and lethal. “Ethan, I swear, if you don’t put Sierra on the phone right fucking now—and then leave her office, taking Kai with you—I’ll be on the plane on my way to New York in the next fifteen minutes.”

Kai laughs, completely unbothered. “Jesus. You remember she grew up with us, right? She’s our friend. She’s my best fucking friend. So calm down, dude. She was out with us every chance we got before you reappeared in her life. Today I want my best friend with me, so leave us alone.”

With that, he hangs up, turns off the phone, and slides it into his pocket like nothing happened.

I blink, trying to process the chaos.

“Oh, this is going to be interesting,” I murmur, grabbing my bag. “Where are we going exactly?”

“Hmm, this was easy,” Ethan chuckles. “To your bachelorette party.”

My stomach drops instantly.

“What? No, no, no,” I say, panic spiking in my chest. “I’m not having a bachelorette party. I don’t want Nick to have one either.”
