He snorts with laughter. “Aye, you might be right. After all, they used to have public executions on the Royal Mile back in the day. A boatload of blood’s been shed there over the years.”
I rub my hands together. “You’ve convinced me. I’m going to have to add that to my travel bucket list.”
When we finish our meal in companionable silence, we toss our empty takeout trays in the garbage, which he calls a rubbish bin, and that just tickles me pink.
Callum turns and crosses his arms over his big, muscular chest.
Okay, I don’t fully know if it’s quite as muscular as I think. His jacket leaves a lot to the imagination. But from what I saw when we were inside the archives earlier when he took it off, I’m pretty convinced he’s got a very nice physique under his shirt.
But I won’t know for sure until I manage to get him out of his clothes.
Which needs to happen real soon. For science.
“We’ve got time for some of that sightseeing you mentioned. Where would you like to go?”
I don’t need any more prompting to whip out my phone and show him my list.
He favors me with an amused smile. “We’re not doing all of that in one day. But come on, I’ve got a good idea of where to start. You might as well enjoy yourself while you can because we’re returning to Salon de Spin tonight. I think we need to work on interrogating some ghosts.”
Is it wrong that I’m just as excited about that as I am about having him as my own personal tour guide this afternoon?
Honey, if it is, then I don’t want to be right.
CHAPTER

RULE #101: WHAT TO DO IF YOU’RE POSSESSED
We’d like to say “Stay Calm and Carry On,” but accomplishing that probably won’t be easy. In most cases of possession, a partner or another team will need to perform an exorcism. We’re afraid this is not a negotiable matter.
Any spirit powerful enough to possess the living needs to be taken out fast, even if that means destroying the host. Please be aware that success rates for exorcism rituals vary. ExorSquad Ltd. is not liable for consequences of said exorcism or any bodily injury incurred while possessed.

Callum
“Were you waitin’ long, sugar?” Beau asks as he strolls up to where I’m leaning against the side of the spin studio building.
There he goes with those weird little endearments. I still can’t tell if they’re an Alabama thing or a Beau thing.
“No. You’re right on time.”
He beams at me. “Of course I am. Mama says a gentleman should always be punctual.” He winks. “Especially when it comes to his personal engagements.”
He says it all prim and proper but with a coy glint in his eyes, and my lips twitch as I hold back a laugh.
Beau Montgomery is a real character. He mystifies me on far too many levels and is way too enticing to my libido. I really need to put some distance between us or this could all blow up in my face.
He bats those fuckin’ gorgeous eyelashes at me. “I had a lovely time this afternoon. Thank you for escorting me.”
We’d done a tour of the Natural History Museum. I’ve always enjoyed that place myself, and I figured it might appeal to someone as quirky as Beau. And I was right; he’d oohed and aahed his way through the exhibits, clutching my arm to get my attention and pointing at things.
It had been bloody distracting. Those damn tingles I get whenever we touch left me on edge and wanting the whole time. For some damned reason, I can’t stop thinking about this strange man who busted his way into my life from out of nowhere.
And fuck me, I like it when he touches me.
But I’m sure as hell not telling him that.
