I'm powerless to stop it.

I’m not sure I want to.

He kisses me a little harder, a little faster, and the last of my resolve dissolves. My hands slide up the back of his neck, my fingers tangling in the soft hair there.

He makes a low sound in his throat, a quiet groan that vibrates against my lips, and it’s the most erotic thing I have ever heard.

That’s it. I’m done.

I’m going to have to change my name and move to another country after this. I’ll become a hermit in the Swiss Alps, living on cheese and chocolate, and I’ll tell the villagers I was a high-powered executive who burned out. They’ll nod sagely and never know the truth is that I kissed one of my bosses during a fire emergency in an off-market penthouse and my brain short-circuited.

Diego pulls back just enough to look at me, and the look in his eyes is… a lot.

Heat pools between my legs.

His breathing is a little unsteady, which is satisfying. I'm not the only one affected here.

"You're still thinking," he murmurs, his thumb stroking my jaw.

"A little," I manage to say.

"What about?"

"Switzerland."

He blinks.

Then he grins, and it’s a wicked, beautiful thing. "Should I be worried?"

"Probably," I whisper.

He leans in, and I brace myself for another kiss. But instead, he trails his lips along my jaw, down my neck. I tip my head back, giving him better access, and a shiver runs through me.

"Switzerland, huh?" he murmurs against my skin. "I hear the alps are beautiful this time of year."

"They are," I say, my voice a little shaky. "Very... neutral."

He chuckles, the sound warm against my throat. "You can't run away from me that easily, Blair."

"I wasn't running," I lie. "Just... considering my options."

"Are you considering this one?" he asks, and then he bites down gently on my earlobe.

My eyes flutter closed. "That's a very strong contender."

"Regardless," he says against my skin as he works his lips back towards my own, "I would prefer it if you didn't think about Switzerland right now."

"Okay," I breathe.

"Or anything else."

"Okay."

"But this," he says, and then he's kissing me again. "This you can think about."

I can't think at all.

I just feel.
