My Forever Sin

“Did he…?”

He doesn’t need to finish that question for me to know what he’s asking about. Did he rape me? “No,” I answer. “He was close, though.”

He presses a kiss to my head.

“I’m sorry about Lacey.”

“I’m sorry that I—”

I sit up, pressing my finger to his lips. “No. You don’t need to… I told you it wasn’t your fault. I just wish it was me that ended her.”

Thinking of everything that Kain went through just to get a bit of reprieve from my disappearance… yeah, all of that stings.

He huffs a laugh. “It will take a while to accept that.”

I sigh. “I know. It’s taken me a long damn time.” I pause. Unless Kain told me I would not have any idea of what he was going through. “Why didn’t you tell anyone?”

He huffs a laugh, running a hand through his mess of hair. “What difference would it have made? It was easier to ignore it. It was just something I shoved to the side. It was… normal.”

I shake my head. “It’s not normal.”

“No. But it was daily life for me.”

“But you told me so many times… back then… you tried to tell me the way Moth—Vivian was treating me was wrong. Why did you not feel the same about… this?”

He shrugs. “For a long time my body hasn’t been my own. It was something everyone could use however they wanted.” He blinks, mouth curling into a small smile. “You’re the only person who ever made me feel like I had a choice.”

My throat constricts. We really are the same.

Kain leans onto his elbow, his thumb and forefinger gripping my chin as he plants his lips to mine, flutters shooting straight into my stomach.

His tongue tangles with mine as his hand begins trailing down, down, down.

I catch his wrist. “Not with Ash and Cassie next to us.” But heat begins rushing to my centre, anyway.

“I don’t care,” he says between kisses. “I've hidden you from the world for long enough, let them know you're mine.”

I let out a breathy moan as he cups my rapidly soaking pussy. “Please, let’s get out of this mess first. I want to love you properly.”

That makes him stop. Makes me stop. It’s the first time I’ve said something close to love…

His hand finds its perch back on my cheek. “Okay.”

“We sinned a hell of a lot, didn’t we?” I murmur, playing with the chain around his neck.

“I’d choose you to be my sin in any lifetime. You’ll be my forever sin.”

With one last peck on the lips, he curls himself around me, and it doesn’t take long for sleep to pull me under.

Ican’t fucking believe he’s still alive. I watched her stab him. I watched him bleed out to unconsciousness, and he’s still. Fucking. Alive with a stupid grin on his face as he lays in the bed while doctors flutter around him like he’s something fucking special.

He should’ve died. He should’ve fucking died.

My feet tap frantically on the carpeted floor, as I sit in a chair in the corner of the room.
