“Nice goal,” he says.

“Thanks.”

He glances toward the stands. “Now go find out what that notebook's about.”

I grin. “You saw it?”

“Pretty sure the whole arena saw it, Bish.”

By the time I reach the tunnel, she's already running toward me.

“Bishop!”

I drop my bag just in time to catch her when she jumps into my arms.

She kisses me before I can say a word.

I hold her tight, laughing against her mouth.

“Hi, Becks.”

“Hi.”

I set her down, but I don't let go.

“What happened? I thought you were supposed to be in that meeting.”

“The meeting's done.”

I search her face. “And?”

“I got the job.”

For a second, my chest goes hollow.

New York.

I force myself to smile. “That's incredible, Delaney.”

She catches my expression.

“Wait. There's more.”

“More?”

“They loved my work at Wilder House. Beau and Caroline want me on the editorial team.”

I nod, trying to keep up.

“And they've agreed to consider my manuscript for publication. Caroline wants to take it through their submissions process.”

I blink. “Your book?”

“My book.” Her smile is so big it nearly takes me out. “Nothing's signed on that part yet, but they're interested, Bish. Really interested.”

“Baby, that's amazing.”

“And the job?” She takes both my hands. “It's here. Chicago. Part-time in the Wilder House office and part-time remote. I'll have time to write. And maybe Darcy and I can even come on the road with you once in a while.”
