Don’t leave these wasted. Put them in every drawer, glove box, and purse. It’s time for my girl to have every experience, wherever and whenever she wants. Get the good stuff, girl ♡
“The fuck is that?”
I jerked my head up to the growl that ripped out of Trevan.
Right, I was standing there holding a box of condoms.
Even though part of me wanted to crawl under a rock, I went for coy, instead. I was growing after all. Plus, I loved the fact that he appeared redder than me.
“Brinley is just making sure I’m prepared for my newfound independence.”
Disbelief rushed out of Trevan like a sieve. A stormy anger he didn’t even attempt to tap. “Not gonna fuckin’ happen.”
My eyebrows arched. “I’m grown, Trevan. I’m going to do what I want. It’s time. No one is holding me back any longer.”
“And what, you expect me to just let some asshole up here to get with you?” He looked like he was going to bust out of his skin.
“If I find someone I like, I do.”
Slim to none chance of that, but a girl had to keep her options open.
Steam might as well have been puffing out of Trevan’s ears, and I thought he was contemplating ripping the box out of my hand and setting it aflame.
Only he spluttered as I opened the box and deposited half of them into my nightstand drawer.
I’d stash the rest around the house later.
Trevan groaned and scrubbed both hands over his face. “What the fuck have I gotten myself into?”
“Nothing that you can’t handle,” I told him as playfully as I could.
“Not sure about that,” he said, and I wanted to press him for what that meant but he beelined for the door. “Guess that’s my cue to let you finish unpacking.”
Before he could get all the way out, I called behind him, my voice dipping into sincerity, “Thank you for everything you’ve done, Trevan. I know this is a huge sacrifice for you.”
He paused and looked back, the man so giant and perfect in the middle of my door. He seemed to weigh what to say before he murmured, “It’s my pleasure.”
I raked my teeth on my bottom lip.
His eyes tracked the motion.
“It means a lot,” I whispered.
“It’s no problem, Lena.”
Trying to shuck off the intensity, I let a grin ride to my face. “We’ll see if you feel that way come tomorrow. I think you got the short end of the stick.”
I gestured in the direction of the couch where he was supposed to sleep.
Trevan moved back toward me, his tattooed, muscled arms bunching.
His jeans snug over his massive thighs.
But his thumb was soft as he reached out and stroked it along my jaw. His voice even softer when he murmured, “There is no such thing as a short end of the stick when it comes to you.”
And I could barely breathe as he walked out.
