“But you’re the only one who can make it that way.”

She thought she could feel the connection they’d always shared take on a charge. A shift. All mixed with a growing reservation.

He must have seen it written all over her because he barely shook his head.

“Lena.” It was a warning.

One she didn’t heed.

Because she fumbled through the little buttons at the front of her dress.

“Fuck, Elena. What do you think you’re doing?”

Her fingers shook as she exposed herself. Her breasts were bare, hard and pebbled in the cool breeze that pumped through the vents.

“You’re my wish. I want you to be the one to…”

She trailed off, not even brave enough to say it.

“Lena…” It was unsettled. Confused and riddled with restraint.

She reached out and took his big hand. Set it over her breast.

A shiver rolled through her while something heavy rocked through Trevan.

His thick throat bobbed and he rumbled, “Fuck,” as his thumb stroked over her nipple. Torment and something darker spun through his features.

A strangled sound left her throat, and she moved closer.

“Lena…fuck…this is not…”

“Please. I want this. I want you.”

The air swirled, and he seemed almost confused and disoriented as his thumb kept tracing her breast, like he couldn’t fathom he was doing it, either. All while every one of her senses gathered to a pinpoint.

Her belly spinning and a foreign throb lighting between her thighs.

His covers had fallen, and she glanced down and saw that he was hard beneath his boxers.

“I—” He seemed to choke it, still unsure.

So she straddled him and pushed her chest out more.

Heat wafted through the room, and he pushed his nose to her neck. “Fuck, Elena. Not supposed to think of you like this. We can’t.”

Though in the rejection, he inhaled like he was recognizing her for the first time.

She gathered her courage and whispered, “I want you to be my first.”

Those words seemed to pierce something inside him, and he suddenly jerked his hand back, his breaths jolting from his lungs.

With a shaking hand, he roughed a hand down his face, then reached out and carefully bunched both sides of her dress, gulping as he held it closed.

“No, Elena. No. You don’t want me. You’re going to meet some amazing guy who’s going to get that honor.” His words were choppy.

“I don’t want anyone else.”

His jaw clenched and his brow slashed. “Not me, Elena. I’m no good. You don’t know what you’re asking.”
