A smile tweaked on the edge of his scandalous mouth.
God, the man could ruin me just looking at me that way.
“Meant for me.” Awe filled his murmur, and he almost phrased it like a question. Wondering if I actually meant it.
“Yes.” It poured from my throat.
A promise that I needed him to hear.
To understand.
To hold.
I scooched back farther onto the bed, and I spread my trembling knees to make him room.
Trevan groaned.
Muttered, “Mine,” as he leaned over me and nipped at my bottom lip.
“Mine,” I mumbled back, claiming him the way he was claiming me, and I scraped my nails down his packed, hard chest.
I kept riding down his rippling abdomen to the button of his jeans. Trying to be careful since he’d just gotten ten stitches on his side.
Leave it to him that the injury didn’t even seem to phase him.
His eyes blazed.
Piercing and deep.
“You sure, Elena? Once we do this, we can’t go back.” The warning rolled like the tolling of distant thunder through the room.
“Yes.” A flicker of insecurity rippled through my spirit. “Are you?”
He gathered up my face. “You are the one thing in this world I’m sure about.”
Emotion ballooned in my chest.
So full.
Overwhelming.
Perfecting.
Trevan’s brow twisted in emphasis. “I love you, Elena Mercer. Am so fucking in love with you. There is no going back for me.”
I gulped around the intensity.
Sucked it down and made it a part of me.
I propped up on my elbows and my head rocked back.
A clear invitation.
Possession reverberated the room.
Banged the walls and stoked the energy.
That fiery gaze was pinned on me as he knelt and worked through his boots. He stood to his massive height and toed them off, covering me in his thrumming shadow as he shoved his jeans and underwear down his legs and kicked those off, too.
