“Well, that just will not do.”
“Nope. Better fix it, Heathen.”
He had the drawer open where I’d stocked more condoms and was covering himself with one in a second flat.
Hands spreading me before he filled me full.
Bliss nearly blacked out my sight.
Yep. Trevan was right.
Best. Morning. Ever.
SIXTY-ONE
TREVAN
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OLD
Trevan was under the car at the autobody shop that he and Silas had opened, a business that was halfway legit. He needed it. Something to do with his hands that wasn’t depraved.
The life that he’d committed himself to was becoming too much. Snuffing the life out of him. The guilt and shame were becoming suffocating.
He tried to focus on the task at hand, cranking a wrench and giving it all he had not to listen to the sultry voice that filtered through the air.
That was the real sin, right there.
But he couldn’t rid it from his twisted mind. That night that had gone down three months ago. When Elena had shown up in his room and tried to divest herself of that pretty dress.
Offering herself to him.
He’d never looked at her that way before then. Had never even had the fluttering of the idea. Yeah. He’d always fucking cared for her. Loved her to pieces. Would have done anything she asked, except for that.
Now?
Now, it was all he could think about. The notion stalking him night and day. The way that plea had slipped over him and got right under his skin.
The way her breast had felt in his hand and the thunder of her heart beneath it.
The way in that moment, he’d been so close to giving in.
Motherfucking treachery.
He couldn’t imagine himself doing something so vile.
Okay, fine. The whole problem was that the only thing he was doing was imagining it.
Made it even worse since she was working at the shop over the summer. Interning. Doing whatever tasks Silas sent her way.
Trevan had almost convinced himself he’d dreamed the whole thing since Elena had acted like nothing had happened. He would have socked it away as fabricated duplicity if it wasn’t for the fact that he felt the shift.
Their friendship, their bond, that energy and warmth he’d always felt when she was around rearranging into something else entirely.
Something bigger and darker.
From beneath the car, he spied her legs as she passed by, white sneakers that she always wore paired with shorts. Her laugh that he’d never realized was so fucking sexy drifted to his ear.
God, he was losing it.
