We both stilled with the voice that impaled us from the side. Trevan only pulled his head back a fraction, still clinging to me as he sent a smirk in Silas’s direction.
“No can do, brother. I’m afraid I’m attached. No chance of keeping my hands off this one.”
Silas grunted. “Not sure of the solution here. Chopping off your hands or gouging out my eyes.”
He waffled his own hands like he was weighing the risks and the benefits.
Brinley laughed beside him, and she snuggled into his side as she gave a playful smack to his chest. “You leave them alone. I think you’ve given them enough grief to last fifteen lifetimes, don’t you think? And Elena has earned those hands pawing at her night and day. Besides, I personally like the way you look at me when I’m splayed out for you on our bed. The eye gouging sounds like a horrible idea.”
“As far as I see it, every single one of you needs all body parts intact,” Meems hollered as she ambled behind them, suggestion thick in her words.
Kai trotted along at her side and kept trying to swipe at a butterfly that flitted through the air, completely oblivious to the conversation.
Silas choked and swiveled his attention at her from over his shoulder. “Now that was an insinuation I didn’t need in my head.”
She waved him off. “President of an MC who’s nothing but a prude.”
A giggle got free of me. “It seems someone needs to buy my big brother a pearl necklace, with the way he’s clutching them all the time.”
“Ha, ha, ha,” he rumbled as he got close. Pure sarcasm dripped from his tongue.
“Oh, I bet he could come up with something interesting to do with those pearls.” Brinley batted her lashes at him, and my brother growled and looped his arm around her waist. He almost bent her in two as he burrowed his face into her neck.
She made a needy noise.
I pretended to gag as I turned my attention up to Trevan. “He sure has a lot to say about our PDA when he is ten times worse.”
“Or better,” Silas shot out from the side with a grin.
Meems chuckled as she made it all the way up. “I think y’all have it right, and it’s about time. I was this close to having to take matters into my own hands and knock some sense into you all.”
“Guess we figured it out, didn’t we, Meems?” Trevan asked it, but he was gazing down at me.
“Yeah, and I’m lucky I wasn’t a damned skeleton before then,” Meems muttered under her breath.
Silas’s tone shifted into sincerity. “Sometimes we get so caught up inside ourselves that it requires someone prying our eyes open.”
Trevan met his gaze. Their bond steely. Stronger than it’d been before because Trevan was no longer hiding in the shadows of who he really was.
“I got eyes, Daddy!” Kai bounced a circle around Silas and Brinley, jumping every couple of feet as he tried to catch the butterfly.
Affection rolled. So intense it was hard for me to process it. Instinctively, my hand went to my belly. To the tiniest swell that had just begun to show.
It still felt surreal. Unreal that Trevan and I were going to have a baby. And Trevan had begun to talk with Felicity about becoming an active part in Wesley’s life. It’d been a huge leap for him, I knew, but he also knew as strongly as I did that family was worth that risk.
I couldn’t wait for this house to be filled with the sound of little padding feet.
“I see you, and my mommy…” Kai started pointing at each of us. “And my Wena, and my Trev-Trev, and Meems!”
“And what about me?” Brody hollered it as he sauntered up through the trees, no doubt coming from the clubhouse.
“Where’s Bowdy? I not see him.” Kai pretended to ramble around in a daze.
Brody swooped him up and threw him in the air. “Then how are you getting tossed into the sky since I’m not here? You must have grown wings.”
Kai squealed and laughed. “I no got wings, Bowdy. I got a mowercycle to make me fly.”
Kai zipped his hand through the air.
