What was he doing in her house? Was she kidding him right now? This wasn’t her house. How had she even gotten in here? Because he knew he’d locked the house up.

There were two women with her. One he recognized as the receptionist from the doctor’s office. The other one he hadn’t seen before, but she looked very similar to Kelly-Anne. So he was going to guess that she was some sort of relative as well.

“Your house? Did you really just say your house?” He glanced behind to find Aimee standing there, dressed in just his T-shirt.

It swamped her small frame, so it was more like an oversized dress. Her hair was all messy, and she wasn’t wearing any makeup. Her eyes were slightly puffy thanks to her crying earlier.

She was utterly gorgeous.

She was also in big, big trouble.

Yep. He’d told her she was in trouble before and threatened to spank her several times. But he hadn’t been able to follow through because she hadn’t been his. Well, that was about to change. And as soon as she was his, she was getting the spanking she deserved.

Because he had definitely told her to stay in the bedroom. What if Kelly-Anne had been armed and dangerous? Aimee could have gotten hurt. His anger rose as she stepped forward in front of him. Reaching out, he grabbed hold of her, pulling her back behind him. “Stay there.”

“What? No, I will not stay here. Kelly-Anne, get out of my house!”

“This is not your house. You heard the lawyer. This is my house now because I’m carrying Charlie’s baby.”

“First of all, until the DNA test is done and the results come in, I have no idea if you are carrying Charlie’s baby. Since you’re a fucking liar I’m not going to take your word for it.”

The woman he didn’t know gasped as though in shock. “Are you calling Kelly-Anne a liar?”

“Yes, I’m calling her a liar, Melanie-Anne! She lies about everything including saying that Ammo assaulted her when he didn’t!” Aimee cried.

Kelly-Anne put her hand on her chest and took a step back as she gave Ammo a fearful look. So she’d only just remembered that she should be afraid of him?

“He did assault me!” Kelly-Anne let out a sob while the other two women crowded around her, trying to comfort her.

“Oh, what a load of bullshit!” Aimee said, stepping up to his side.

He put out his arm to stop her from going any further. No way was he letting her near this bitch. Not after she’d tried to lunge for her in the lawyer’s office.

Aimee didn’t try to push against his arm, which was just as well, but he was still going to have to have a few words with her about staying where he put her and doing what he told her to do.

“He didn’t assault you, and you know it. You made it up because you were angry at me for saying that you need to get a DNA test.”

Kelly-Anne’s eyes narrowed.

That’s exactly what had happened. She was angry at Aimee, and had attempted to get revenge by accusing Ammo of assaulting her.

“It’s true, he did assault me. Look at him and look at me, and I’m pregnant. I’m surprised the sheriff let you out. You should be locked up in a jail cell!”

Oh, she’d thought he was still be locked up in jail. The sheriff can’t have told her that he’d had to let Ammo go and that’s why she’d come over now. He was certain that she wouldn’t be here if she’d known that he was here.

But how the hell had she gotten in here? Did she have a key?

“You’re supposed to be locked away in a jail cell where you can’t hurt anyone.”

“I’ll have to have a word with Uncle Jim about this,” Melanie-Anne said with a sneer.

“That’s why you’re here, isn’t it? You thought that Ammo was still locked up. So what? You thought you’d come in here and just have a look around? Break into my house?” Aimee demanded.

Kelly-Anne turned to Aimee. “It’s my house as well. And when I’m through with you, you won’t get a dime out of it.”

“Oh, yeah? And how do you figure that?” Aimee said. “First, you’ve got to prove that the child you’re carrying is Charlie’s, and even then, only half this house is his. Not to mention the fact that it’s mortgaged to the hilt, so when it sells, that’ll have to be paid off first.”

“You can pay the whole mortgage,” Kelly-Anne told her.
