I never truly understood what they meant until now. I can feel my mate. Not perfectly. Not enough to know exactly where she is. But enough to know she’s alive. Enough to know she is waiting for me. Enough to know I can find her.
I’ll find her. My lion knows how to.
"I know where she is."
Every conversation around me halts.
Justice looks at me like I’ve lost my damn mind. "What?"
"I know where she is."
Corbin narrows his eyes. "You got an address all of a sudden?"
I shook my head. "No."
"Then how do you know?"
I look down at my chest, still feeling that strange pull grow stronger the more attention I pay to it.
"I can feel her, the bond between us."
Silence.
Aziz was the first to move. "The bond between you two will be different. She’s a part of you as Jett is a part of me. You can find her through it. Follow it, and it will show you the way to her."
"He’s right," Orpheus remarks, coming up beside him.
Justice looks back and forth between the three of us.
"You mean—"
"I don’t know where she’s being held," I interrupt him. "Not exactly, but she’s pulling me. I know she’s alive."
There isn’t any logic to it.
Only instinct. Pure animal instinct.
My lion is already pacing.
Every second we stand around here talking feels wrong.
She’s hurting.
Pain ripples through the bond so suddenly that it steals the breath from my lungs. My knees almost buckle beneath me.
"What the fuck?" I snarl, realizing what’s going on.
She’s bleeding.
The realization hit me so hard I double over. "Primal?" Justice grabs my shoulder.
I jerk away. "We’re wasting time."
Before anyone can stop me, I shift completely. Bones crack. Muscles stretch.
My lion erupts from my skin with a roar that echoes across the land.
The pull strengthens immediately.
