He watched her. She snarled him.
"Not a word," she warned.
His mouth twitched.
"I haven't said anything."
"You're thinking I am fat."
"You are not fat. You are voluptious. Want me to put you on my study table and prove it?", he asked with a lecherous smile while he waggled his bushy eyebrows suggestively.
"Blaidd."
He crossed the room, knelt before her, and gently took the trousers from her hands.
"Sit down, sweetheart."
"I can dress myself."
"I know."
"Then why are you kneeling?"
"Because I enjoy being at your feet. And between your legs."
She glared at him. He smiled innocently.
It was a smile she had once believed him incapable of giving. Warm, faintly wicked, and one reserved strictly for her.
Carefully, he guided one foot through the fabric, then the other. He helped her stand, drew the trousers over her hips, and fastened them beneath the enormous swell of her belly.
Then he bent and kissed it.
"Good morning, little wolves."
A slight movement answered.
Fae laughed.
"There. You've woken them."
A second movement followed, sharper this time. He spread his large palm over her stomach.
"Oi," he murmured. "Be gentle with your mother."
"Oh, now you tell them. Where were you when your son was trying to rearrange my internal organs last night?"
"Our son?"
"The one on the left. I'm convinced he's a boy."
"And the other?"
"A girl."
"You sound certain."
"I am."
