The thought pulls me up short. I shouldn’t be comparing Dom and Killian. I shouldn’t be thinking of Killian like that at all. Not ever.

Especially not now that he’s staying.

No matter what it takes, I’m going to make sure Scarlett, Caitlin, and James have the best Christmas they’ve ever had. My mind is already whirring with the things I want to do to make things more festive for them—things that won’t cause any stress or strain to Scarlett.

I wasn’t kidding when I said Caitlin and James are the priority here, I was just … holding back a little. It’s clear that Scarlett hasn’t put herself first in a long time—probably since she had Caitlin—and that changes now.

I’m going to show Scarlett how it feels to be a priority again, even if it kills me.

God, I hope she lets me.
