I huff out a laugh and grip onto the sides of his neck, holding on for dear life.
“Not sorry if this is my punishment,” I say, and he bites down on the fleshy part of my shoulder. “God, I like that.”
His other hand is planted firmly on my ass, holding me up, and every inch of skin against me is so damn warm.
“You’re hugging my cock so fucking perfectly,” he says, shaking his head before he rests his forehead against mine. “Goddamn, Ree.”
That’s always the nickname that hits me in the solar plexus.
Because it’s when he’s at his most vulnerable that he calls me that.
“I’m going to—” I shake my head, unable to finish the sentence, and he smiles.
“Do it.”
“Fuck.” I’m rippling around him, and then I’m losing my damn mind, falling off the most delicious edge into nothing but absolute sensation. Carson groans and follows me over, emptying himself inside me.
And I hope that this is when we make another baby.
I’m ready.
We lost so much time, I don’t want to wait any longer.
“I have to take you somewhere today,” he says before he kisses me and lowers me to my feet. My legs shake, and he holds onto me so I don’t fall. “We have an appointment in an hour.”
“Where?” I ask him.
“Charlie’s new school.”
I blink in surprise. “Seriously?”
“Yep. We’re meeting with the staff this morning.”
I have so many questions, but if we have to be there in an hour, I don’t have much time, so I hurry to dry off and get ready to head out the door.
“What the hell kind of place is this?” My eyes are wide as Ricky pulls up to a huge Gothic-looking gate and speaks with the guard. “Why does this gate look like it belongs in an Anne Rice novel? I’m not leaving my kid at a boarding school, by the way.”
Carson squeezes my hand. “It’s not a boarding school.”
“But it’s also not not scary,” I reply, making him grin at me. “What?”
“You’re fucking adorable.”
“No, I’m not.”
As we drive down a long tree-lined road—how did they get scary trees in Vegas?—I notice that it’s heavily guarded. I see plenty of cameras, but there are also soldiers on foot, all armed.
“If this is a military school, I swear to God I’ll stab you in your sleep, Carson St. James. Absolutely not.”
“Okay, enough.” He turns me to face him and braces my shoulders in his big hands. “You didn’t freak out this bad when I told you I kill people for a living. This is a private school for kindergarten through high school. It’s High Desert Elite Academy. Diplomats, celebrities, anyone that has security concerns sends their kids here.”
I blink at him, shocked. I suppose it makes sense that those kinds of people send their children to a school like this.
I guess I never really thought about it. And I should have, considering my father planted a man in Charlie’s school.
“And we have security concerns.”
“Damn right we do,” Carson says as Ricky comes to a stop in front of a school that, to my immense relief, looks like a normal school. Or, rather, a school campus.
