“Excuse me?”

I frown. “You heard me.”

She huffs. “I did. I’m deciding whether I want to answer.”

I smirk. “That bad?”

Her jaw drops. “Dude, you are really not selling the "I've been with a woman before" story. You don’t ask a girl questions you don’t want the answer to.”

“I meant how many you buried,” I chuckle. “Not slept with.”

Her face heats. “Oh.”

“But now I'm curious about the second—”

“None of your business,” she mutters. “How many girls have you fucked?” she asks, her brow furrowing.

“You really want to know?”

Her nose wrinkles. “Ew, no. And I’m not telling you mine.”

“I’m not judging—”

“It really feels like you are,” she snaps.

I shrug and we both go silent for a moment.

“Twenty.”

My brows arch.

“Kills,” she adds with a frown. “I’ve killed twenty people.”

I arch an eyebrow. “Including tonight?”

She sucks on her teeth and glances away.

“Bella—”

“What?” she mutters. “I said twenty.”

“I’ve personally seen you kill at least five people. So I don’t believe for a second it’s only—”

“Sixty.”

Her mouth snaps shut and her brows knit. “Ish. I haven’t kept a close count.”

When I say nothing, her teeth rake over her bottom lip as she looks at me like she’s regretting telling me. Like she’s seeing the very reaction on my face that she was worried about.

She’s reading me all wrong, though.

“I have…issues, okay?” she mumbles, frowning and glancing away. “Look, just forget I said—”

“One hundred and forty-seven.”

Bella stiffens. Then she slowly turns back to me.

“The buried ones,” I growl. “It’s one hundred forty-seven.”
