At the top, in bold letters, it says:
THE PROMISES OF MAVERICK KANE
And beneath it, in a neat bulleted list, are all the things my husband just promised me.
To love me.
To honor me.
To stand beside me.
To support my dreams.
To build a life with me.
To choose me.
Every day.
For as long as we both shall live.

Maverick is watching me. Nervous. My big, grumpy billionaire husband is actually nervous.
“Well?” he asks.
I smile. “I have one amendment.”
He groans. “Of course you do.”
I step into his arms.
“Maybe someday we could give Shiloh a sibling? He’d make an excellent big brother.”
“I think I can handle that. In fact, I think we should go do that right now.”
My husband kisses me.
And this time, neither one of us pulls away.

“Ho, ho, ho!”
I bite the inside of my cheek.
Maverick’s eyes narrow at me over the head of the little girl standing in front of him.
